1) From the fact that you took them out - did the rash go away?
2) What is the probability of 2 people being allergic at the same time to something similar to which is constantly in the apartment? Yes, and dry insects..

It's hard to say what's here.. Maybe they put something in the insects, but most likely this is not the problem at all.. By the way now poplar fluff smile.gif

No one will ever give you a definite answer, not even the doctor. Try actually deleting the collection from a contact and seeing it for a few days.

Was there any mold on the insects? You may also be allergic to its spores.

I can disappoint you, I have the same problem. When I spend too much time watching insects, I get the same symptoms. weep.gif It is only necessary to put aside everything immediately passes.but this case affects me for some reason only in the summer.Maybe you have the same thing as me.Did this happen in the winter?

1) You should study insects periodically, as I do.
2)Or just put up with it if you love insects so much.

I don't even know how to help you.Maybe someone else can.I just have them everywhere in my room, because I don't even have time to throw them on the mattresses, so I can't avoid them and sometimes have to put up with them. And the love of insects gives me strength. But it's already so familiar that I don't even notice. cool.gif

Yeah.. allergy to breadcrumbs.. it's crazy.. I've never heard such a thing in my life lol.gif

Right now, aren't there a lot of allergy medications??

There is also an assumption on the insects themselves.. What kind of insects did you take - beetles? "Like what?" butterflies? "like what?" Maybe some specific insects are bothering you..

Let's go deeper into the problem smile.gif

Well, you're a smartass.

Sometimes such allergens live on a dead body (I won't frighten you, but I keep my entire collection out of the house)smile.gif. Our object is "dangerous"in any form. Allergies can be caused not only by dead people, but also by live insects, as well as their waste products. And it may not develop immediately (allergy). Here's the first bell.

There doesn't seem to be anything like that.. I don't know.. Apparently this allergy is personal.. I do not know the mechanism of occurrence and influence of allergies and it is difficult to say.

with all due respect to the love of insects... I'm not so sure about constantly inhaling what is released during the decomposition of organic matter (and preserving collections of drugs like naphthalene!) good for your health... I'm not just talking about allergies, but also about cancer... I've heard that the same decaying cockroaches (like naphthalene) are carcinogens...

Allergies can occur at any age (absurd, but I realized in my first year of graduate school that I was allergic-for the first time in my life! -- and it was to the forage plant of the bug that I was supposed to conduct research on-I had to change the object).

I advise you to isolate what you got and see what happens. And then bring the box again - and check again....

In general, an allergy may not be to the insects themselves, but to the chemicals that they were stained or etched with. I can advise you to take "Erius" before working with the collection. A good drug, it works for about a day. But insects, in any case, it is better not to keep at home.

2 RippeR allergy to breadcrumbs occurs much more often than to live insects. As one hero said, "There are many things in the world, friend Horatio, that our wise men never dreamed of" (this may be a somewhat loose quote, sorry). And they could not starve these insects or then etch some thread with pyrethroid or other plant poison. If some insects were removed, others remained, and the symptoms decreased, then it may not be the insects themselves.

Go to an allergist, I think he can dispel your doubts. If one is not available, then at least see a therapist. If this is an allergy to chitin (as the most common), then I think that you will have to part with the hobby. Otherwise, the case may end up with asthma or more nasty (and dangerous) sores.
Yes, and yet, you should not crush the allergy with drugs and continue to deal with insects, since the sensitivity to drugs decreases over time, and the allergization continues. At one point, you may encounter an allergen in everyday life without covering the drug (arrived in another city, in a hotel with cockroaches, for example) and it may not turn out in your favor, because with allergies, it is not the amount of allergen that matters, but the fact of its presence, and the reaction to a tiny piece of chitin can be severe.

You know, I have already removed the last two deliveries and the symptoms are still the same....
I just have stands with insects hanging on the wall, and only my own catches are left, where I did not pickle them with anything.......I don't even know what to think....My husband spends the night with his parents... rolleyes.gif

I think you have only one option left. Isolate all insects, even stands from the wall and your catches for a while, and see if the symptoms remain, then it is not the insects that are to blame for your misfortune. Then you will need to reconsider other options. cool.gif

If possible, relax together for a week at the dacha or with relatives outside your apartment and collections. If the allergy persists, then the allergen is not associated with insects. If it passes, but when you return to the apartment, everything will repeat-alas frown.gif

Or maybe it's not the insects? Think about what else was new in the apartment (things, furniture, new washing powder, cosmetics, etc.) or was happening (repairs ...) .

New down pillows/blankets that can develop ticks ...

nothing to add..
Go ahead!

I came across temku, it was a long time ago. The allergy went away a few days after I removed the insects. Ordered insects were out of the apartment for six months, then brought again, nothing resumed. I've never seen anything like this before, thank God.

To trigger an allergic reaction, a certain "critical mass" of the allergen is necessary, and, therefore, a certain time of contact with it. So, if there are still suspicions about entomological material, then you need to exercise caution.

30.03.2009 19:28, Aaata

By the way, it is quite possible to establish a specific allergen (or allergens), this can be done if necessary in the allergological (immunological) department. Moreover, according to the results of these tests, if there are indications (for example, if further work with allergen-containing material is necessary), specific hyposensitization can be prescribed, after which there will be no hyperergia to this particular allergen.

30.03.2009 20:08, Vorona

rolleyes.gif Well, I don't even know how accurate such tests are for an allergist. Once, about 6 years ago, a friend of mine took a child to this subject. They gave the kid these samples, gave him a list of products that might be allergens. I remember very well that the probability for each "suspect" was eek.gifno more than 0.5. In short, it was easier to flip a coin lol.gif
True, maybe these years medicine has been moving by leaps and bounds (or only we are so denseconfused.gif)

Medicine did not stand still.
