Stick insect refuses to eat

Community and ForumInsects breedingStick insect refuses to eat

The situation is as follows: a stick insect acquired as an imago (Spiniphasma crassithorax) actively ate oak leaves for 2 weeks and looked quite healthy. Then abruptly refused to eat and for about 2-3 days slowly but surely dies. Unfortunately, I was not told how long he lived before the purchase. What are the possible reasons? Maybe he just lived out his life already? Or did he need to offer other leaves? There are no visible fungal or other lesions. Can anyone come across something like this?

Sorry, not quite in the subject, but where did you buy it?
I read on forums that this is how praying mantises die of old age.
I have so died grasshoppers, bronzes, rhinos....

Most likely, it just outlived its time. It is not great for stick insects, 8 months from the moment of birth, and then they also sit in the egg for half a year. And why offer other leaves? For example, I have three types of stick insects. Singaya, kunikulina sp. and Anamsky. Everyone eats raspberries. But about the imago here it is difficult to determine exactly how much is left. The only thing that I have koshgda kunikulina molted the last time so on the joints of the legs, especially the thighs and shins, light gaps were visible, and then after 2 weeks the color becomes more monotonous and dull.

I have encountered this problem!I have quite often stopped eating stick insects for both reasons. In order not to starve to death, I had to feed them literally from my hands. By the way, hungry stick insects do not look good on an entomological pin.
