What is the movement in the Saturnia pyri pupa?

Community and ForumInsects breedingWhat is the movement in the Saturnia pyri pupa?

In July, a Saturnia pyri pupa was accidentally brought in from the sea in a car. They put it in sawdust and sprinkled it with water. Now, at the end of October, they are going to hide it in the refrigerator, but it is very actively moving inside the pupa. Very active. Maybe it's starting to hatch? What to do?

I assume you're talking about the movements of the pupa inside the cocoon? It is ok.

Thank you. Yes, probably so right. The pupa is actively scratching inside the cocoon. I.e. it does not hatch and it can be put in the refrigerator for the winter?

High temperature means a lot of movement, and when the temperature drops, there will be less movement...
