In Tyumen, where they are now suffering from a massive invasion of silkworms, the city quest "Find a butterfly"is coming to an end. The task is to take as many joint photos as possible with butterflies that appear daily in different places of the city. The most successful butterfly and selfie seeker will be rewarded with a bicycle.
Among the butterflies participating in the competition on the streets of the city, you can observe such beauty as the Queen Alexandra's birdwing, endemic to New Guinea with unusual iridescent wings with a span of up to 200 mm.
There is also a modest anglwing c-white, which likes to bask in the sun. On the inside of its rear wing is a distinctive white spot in the shape of the letter "c".
Another" photo model", the colorful peacock-eyed io, stands out with round bright spots on its hind wings, which it opens in case of danger to scare off insectivorous animals.
Early bird lemongrass Cleopatra, flying out in March, is a long-lived butterfly — each individual lives, on average, about 9 months, and its distribution range is very wide - from Portugal to Switzerland.
The quest is conducted by the Tyumen city portal Tumix.ru, terms and details on the organizer's website https://tumix.ru The contest runs until July 20.
