Photographer's comment: P. loewii dzhemagati (Sheljuzhko, 1934) in the North Caucasus. Description. The length of the forewing is 14-16 mm. In the male, the wings are blue above, with a marginal darkening of 2-3 mm wide and darkened veins; in the female, they are brown with orange holes at the anal corner of the hindwings. Below, the wing is gray-brown in the male, and light brown in the female. The pattern of the underside of the wings is contrasting. Marginal black spots of the underside of the hindwings in the anal angle with bright blue scales. The length of the valva is 1.8-2.0 mm. Biology. Xerophytic biotopes. In the mountains up to 1600 m. Adult years: July in the 1st generation. Caterpillar food plants: Astragalus spp. Related and similar species: P. cyane: the underside of the wings is lighter, the blade of the uncus is higher in the lateral projection, the branches of the gnathos are directed caudally.There is no comments in English so far.
