Photo #39719: Pieris brassicae

Male

Pieris brassicae

Base gallery. Upperside. Pinned specimen.

Photo, and identified by: Vasiliy Feoktistov. Image without retouching at the website

Date and time, location shooting/catching: 1996-09-04 00:00:00, Russia, Moscow reg., near Zheleznodorozhny city. leg. Feoktistov V.I.

Photographer's comment: Wingspan: 59 mm. During the period of developed human agricultural activity in my region, the number of this whitefly was very high everywhere and as everywhere it was considered a pest (and still by inertia it is considered one). But as our agriculture declined, the number of the species also declined (I attribute this to the cessation of planting of cabbage, turnips, and other cruciferous plants on an industrial scale). Now we are very lucky to meet a real cabbage patch: more and more small turnips Pieris rapae come across.

"Comments of the author" in this field must refer to a particular instance of that shown in the photo and the photo itself. In this case we are referring Comment successfully at the (whole text, except for size) and this information should be on the page, type in the "Commentaries." :)

Fixed. Well, he wrote his opus in the author's comments, where with time correction is not critical))).
More than once I told Peter that claimed half an hour to edit comments yet upon .... At dead center (

After the "author" the point is not to put down, in a hurry, I did not pay attention. Corrects late). In this case it is not so in principle, we about different. Correct still on Pieris napi Pieris rapae.

Irina, thanks for the comment, I agree that corrected.
Just want to recommend the correct word in the first bracketed part of the proposal upper case to lower. Here, "in the author's comments ( To avychki and capital" ..... between words author and the brackets is not the point (and a new offer Do not start with parentheses). So I take it as a part of the sentence, which in this case must begin with a lowercase letter.

Pieris rapae - Pieris rapae, napi - green-veined white. It would be necessary to correct in the comment author (quotation marks and capital letters for Russian names also are not necessary)
