Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species

  • Wingspan 50-60 mm. Male, UP white, black at apex, a series of white subapical spots forming at the inner edge and with a square-shaped black spot in mid space 3 of FW, HW with a series of black marginal spots at the end of veins. Male of subsp. distantihas broader black markings on both wings than those ofadamsoni. Female UP similar to wsf. (the wet season form) of the female ofAppias albinabut has broader black borders and with four or three white subapical spots on FW whereas those of former species with two white spots. [144].
