Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species
- The black-brown wings are greenish on top, the rust-brown sash is wider than usual, but there is no sash at all on the hind wings. On the tops of the forewings — two eyes, usually with white cores. The underside of the wings of both sexes bears eyes corresponding to the upper part of the wings, the color of the underside of the forewings is brown-red in the male and lighter, rusty-red in the female. Underside of the hindwings of Erebia tyndarus with three serrated transverse bands and white pollen on a reddish-gray background. [85].
