last year, when I went to Lake Issyk-Kul, I saw a statue, this pack was in the form of a tennis player, and this tennis player, sorry, a crack formed between her legs, so the wasps settled there, they flew out, flew in, the family was powerful, and what is most interesting, they concentrated around this crack, which gave the tennis player a very natural look! smile.gif

This is all absolutely true! umnik.gif

And one more case, wasps settled in the toilet at the dacha, before there was a light bulb on the ceiling, but it broke, and it was removed, but another wasp built a nest, and at night I got used to it, the light is not on, I started rummaging in the ceiling, I touched it and then a nightmare, but I knocked down the wasps in a point and ran away

Last year, in our forest, medium-sized wasps stuck their nest right under the bird's nest. However, I still did not understand whether the bird's nest was empty before that, or whether the birds themselves had moved away from the wasps. Now, near that forest, hornets have chosen the building's ventilation system. Along the same forest stretch heating mains - there regularly settle under its shell Saxon and vulgaris. Old cars at the railway station near the forest became a haven for polists. You can still remember a lot of things.

There were also small "attics"on the roof of the multi-storey building. Along the brick wall of this attic, close to it, ran a pipe with a diameter of approx. 4cm, with an open top end and bottom, there was a bend at the bottom. So, this pipe was actively flown in and out .. german wasps. It is clear that the nest was not in the pipe, but in the attic, but the pipe itself is completely outside! If this is not part of another dimension, then in the part of the pipe that was to the wall from the wall side there should be a hole leading into the attic.

Thanks to Sailor, I remembered another case. Last year I worked in Moscow, changing old windows in a high-rise building for plastic ones. And in the old window, at the height of 8 floors, I found the old 2-storey nest of Saxonica. Moreover, judging by his condition, he was no more than 2 years old. I was surprised by a few things : I used to think that Saxonians , unlike Germanics and Vulgaris, avoid cities. However, this g-o was located in the very center of Moscow ( on Frunzenskaya Embankment), just a few steps away - traffic, and even the 8th floor. However, it didn't seem to bother Saxon. In addition, above , in the attic of the 10th floor, I found several empty mother nests of Saxonica. I must say that at this altitude, due to the proximity of the river, there were quite strong winds. However, despite such extreme conditions, the nest has fully developed, judging by the second uterine honeycomb.

I also remember a case where I hung out a wolf skin to dry, and the most interesting thing is that two months later wasps settled there, they flew out and flew in from the nostrils of a stuffed animal, it was interesting

Based on my personal experience of "saving" Muscovites:
1. In an apartment on the 6th floor of the Stalinist building on Kutuzovsky Prospekt, an old woman fell ill. In short, they took her to the hospital, and the window from the balcony remained ajar. A couple of months later, the old lady had to help to remove the almost 30-centimeter germanica nest, arranged above the balcony door. At the same time, granny had to throw out the cotton lace curtains, as they turned out to be included in the nest and, accordingly, were gnawed ungodly.
2. They were called to the district Tax Inspectorate, whose employees were mercilessly pitied by wasps that came from nowhere, falling on poor ladies literally from the ceiling. It turned out that the vulgaris nest, arranged in the inter-storey floors of 4-5 floors, was damaged during the repair of the external wall, and the wasps "went" down through the ventilation holes in the ceiling and wall panels.
3. A friend who returned to his dacha after a vacation in warm countries could not use his toilet, which was favored by the hornet family.
4. Lovingly hung on the garden plot birdhouses in the middle of summer turned into a real punishment for summer residents, as they were all busy with work.

Well, and many other things... And where solitary wasps settle down is a special conversation. There are simple nail holes, locks, latches, matchboxes, and even smoking pipes, cartridge cases, and simple lumps of paper. wink.gif
