I have the same question, only about Rostov-On-Don))) I go there in the summer, sometimes I find rhinos crawling and dead (bitten by birds) in old rotten trees, but I have never seen them fly....tell me who lives in Rostov, when they fly and how to spot themsmile.gif

A real story from the life of entomologists. The deer beetle is a handsome
half-palm - sized beetle with large horns (hence the name), a rare
and valuable collector's item. And here in the train, to the complete
stupefaction of the surrounding audience, decent-looking guys are talking
, they don't look like stoned drug addicts at all:
- Imagine, the deer have already flown...
"Caught it?"
"They're so high up in the oaks that they can't reach the net.
- I should have lured you to beer. Deer loves beer, horror! She puts her trunk in and
sucks, baldets, just take it with her bare hands. I brought so many of them from the Volga River last year
... And if they sit on the oaks - here, of course,
you will catch figs...

in the Penza region, the day before yesterday, a female flew into the world, ...and in general it is not uncommon.
regarding breeding: guys, no need to be petty, it's better to throw the pupae of a relict barbel! =)

Thanks for the link...
I was upset, though...After reading it, I found out that " the life span of a rhinoceros beetle is short - it lives no more than three months. An adult insect does not even feed, using the reserve of nutrients accumulated in the" childhood " of the larva. Its task in nature is to find a mate and start a new life cycle."
Today I picked up an adult male (in the center of Odessa, near Derebasovskaya)...Handsome - 5 cm...I thought he was dying, he was lying upside down, barely moving - I brought him home, and he ran away from the bag...I found it...Now I'm looking for something to feed...but IT turns out THEY DON'T EAT frown.gif
Now I don't even know where to release it...there are only dead houses around...
