Who has data on the Coleoptera fauna of Moldova

Community and ForumInsects biology and faunisticsWho has data on the Coleoptera fauna of Moldova

Сергей Сергеевич, 22.09.2007 21:10

I am a new user of the site (just today I found it on the Internet)
I am preparing a scientific paper on the coleopterofauna of Moldova (Transdniestria, in particular), I have collected a lot of material on beetles, but I have found very few works on the study of the coleopterofauna of this territory. weep.gif
If you have any information, please reply to my message. mol.gif

Yes, there are different data, but not specifically for me.. But I can search for the necessary information by families of interest. What exactly are you interested in? By the way, if you will be in Chisinau, then you can go to the institute together, ask around, view the literature of interest, since it is not in the email version frown.gif smile.gif

And you won't find any literature on the territory of Transdniestria-I know from my own experience. Go to Chisinau, visit us, and visit the libraries more often. What kind of research paper are you preparing?

For the weevils, of course, thank you very much!!!!!!!! jump.gif
Well, I'm unlikely to be in Chisinau. If there is information, it would be just fine if it were in the electoronic version. umnik.gif
What about my work - I am preparing an overview of the coleopterofauna of Pridnestrovie. There is a finished work on ground beetles in Tiraspol and its environs. There is a lot of data on Carabids, but there is very little data on other families, so I asked YOU for help.
I will be happy to cooperate with you in the future. wink.gif
I would be happy to help you with your "alternative to ZIN" on the Karabids of Transnistria and beetles in general.

By the way, Alexey Grigoryevich Moseyko (a post-graduate student) works at ZINA ( http://www.zin.ru/Animalia/Coleoptera/rus/moseyko.htm ) - Your fellow countryman. His course work, if my memory serves me correctly, was on leaf beetles of Transnistria.

Thank you for the message about leaf eaters. wink.gif
I have heard a lot about A. Moseyko, because I study at the same department of the university with the same teachers. I am well acquainted with his article. umnik.gif
It is advisable to find data on other Coleoptera families in Moldova rolleyes.gif

In my opinion, I posted a list of Moldovan barbels somewhere, but there is no distribution.. Lists of different families are available in Chisinau.. I don't know where else. I have lists of 1917 - Miller, Zubovsky, according to various families, there is also Medvedev, Shapiro, also an old work, but there is the main species composition of Moldova. There should be new lists for beetles. But you need to apply specifically.
By the way, if you are interested in any trips for beetles-you can arrange. Then I can pass on Miller, too. I'm just going to set traps on Thursday and pick them up on Saturday and Sunday. Here on the weekend you can leave smile.gif
By the way, there is a collection, are you interested in the exchange?

I take it you live in Chisinau? I won't be in this region for a very long time yet, so I won't be able to meet you. shuffle.gif frown.gif weep.gif

Can you tell me if there is an electronic version of Miller, Zubovsky (1917) and Medvedev and Shapiro somewhere on the Internet? I only have a part on ground beetles and barbels? I'd really appreciate it. wink.gif
There seems to be no other literature on this region. Sorry....... weep.gif

There are no email options. You can try to scan it if you can.
There is other literature, more up-to-date, but you should ask the institute more specifically about it. If I get there, I'll definitely ask. What I can do, I'll open it and scan it.

I can put up a list of leaf eaters if you are interested. I myself work at the Museum of the Academy of Sciences in Chisinau. The list was compiled based on the copies available there, now Livia Calestru works there on leaf beetles, she has labels with names in the box even where there are no species. So I made a list of leaf eaters if you are interested, I can throw it off. The only thing is that there are no leafblocks and cassids. So this material is determined by the Internet and the determinant. Here is just a great site http://www.biol.uni.wroc.pl/cassidae/Europ...f%20species.htm

to amara. Thank you so much for the long-nosed ones. Somehow I didn't pay attention to this topic. But when I downloaded it, it was just perfect. I now at least know how to write a thesis, and plus data on zoogeography, etc., etc. in Moldova, small modifications can be applied to ropalocera. Unfortunately, they DON't TEACH this at uni, and managers don't have time. Thank you very much again. There will be more kakik-any works on Moldova, put them up, I will be very happy.
