Hello.
Tell me, please, what stations/biotopes should you pay attention to in order to catch a bee wolf?
Has anyone caught it in Moscow or the Moscow Region? Can you tell me a specific location?

On roadsides, including on major city streets, on lawns trampled to bare dust, burrows occur most often. Also - under houses, if the sand gets out of the foundation in some places. And, in general, any exposed loose soils. Burrows about the diameter of a pencil are usually dug at an acute angle to the surface of the ground, in front of them - a fairly large, gentle dump of the removed substrate, if only no one has brushed it away with his foot. Almost always in groups. But in the same places and exactly the same burrows dig and other sphecids, to establish the species affiliation, you will have to wait for the return of the mistress. If the task is not to observe nesting behavior, but simply to catch a specimen regardless of gender and fertilization, then the recipe is universal for 99% of wasps-flowering umbelliferae, kermeks and other plants with easily accessible nectarines. I don't know anything about MO.

Thank you very much! Comprehensive information. Thank you.

In recent years, philanthropists in MO have become quite common. I caught it myself several times (about 60 km along the Paveletskaya railway). Solidago flowers are often visited.
