Pentatomoidea: search, gathering places, catching methods

Carpocoris sp, 21.08.2019 14:28

I've been thinking for a long time about which section to create this theme in, here or in"Hardware". In general, I am interested in shield beetles: real, tree, earth, turtles, I want to collect a collection of them. Although I occasionally look for them when traveling, I live in the east of the Moscow region(Orekhovo-Zuyevo), and I am interested in finding some of the missing species, but there is very little sensible information. Maybe there are also those who collect them, knows any subtleties of their detection? Especially interested in the genera Chlorochroa, Eysarcoris, Peribalus, Piezodorus.

There was also a question about the memory of a "meeting" two years ago. In 2017, when I was not interested in insects at all, I saw several beetles that interested me now. It was at the end of August, in the garden, when we collected arugula pods, selected seeds from them and prepared them for planting the following year. I don't remember all the details right now, but I can still see the picture in my head: scabies were crawling on the collected pods, light brown in color, definitely with a non-uniform, longitudinally striped color. What kind of view could it be? I assumed it was turtles, but it looked more like members of the genus Odontotarsus. I would like to ask, are there really possible finds of this kind in the Moscow region?

It seems to me that under this description, Aelia acuminata first comes to mind, what he might have liked arugula, I do not know, in any case, this is divination.

Can you tell me if you can catch Piezodorus liturgatus on lupine? And in general, I am interested in where this bug lives in the Moscow region. I think you should look in meadows with legumes like clover, sweet clover, mouse peas, right?

Lupine is referred to as a fodder for this species. I haven't come across one yet, but I didn't look for it on purpose. It's probably more likely to be found somewhere in the south of MO.

Something I lied, there is one Piezodorus liturgatus from 16.07.2017 from the Mytishchi district, mowed down in the field, there were a lot of "mouse peas", but there were no lupins. I caught another one last fall on 06.10.2020 on an oak tree in Zheleznodorozhnoye.

Chlorochroa pinicola was found 3 times. I searched the pine forest on purpose and examined the trunks of large pines, but I never came across one. I think it develops in the crowns of adult pine trees, so it comes across accidentally, all three times were caught during a gusty wind, once in flight and twice at the landing site. In the big pine forests, I think, it will be easier to search.
Juniper is unlikely to be found in MO due to the almost complete absence of juniper.
Peribalus strictus is not common in the MO, but it is quite common.
Eysarcoris aeneus mowed down a couple of times in the meadows.

Thanks! Not found at the moment only Eysarcorisa

turn on google images and see what they're sitting on.
all the mentioned types are available in the south of Moscow. not infrequent (it is more understandable to say single ones - 3 pieces per season is already quite common), but also not massive.
not on the lawn, of course, but along the borders of natural forest biotopes.
Piezodorus lituratus in the past decades, I did not notice the middle part of the MO, and recently it is regularly found, the field is meadow.
More interesting and less common are predatory ones from the azopines, such as Arma custos. Catch Rhaphigaster - that will be news, imho. Or also, is it stable here?

I caught an Arm in a suburban area near the village of Novy Snopok. It was in late April or early May, and my family asked me to cut down thin branches of brushwood with a machete. I went to the pile of firewood, set to work, and saw him. I thought at first, I didn't see that the autumn ones were spring brown prazina or Troilus luridus.

I get Arma regularly, but only by the piece.
Troilus-I managed to get one last year, but at the same time older nymphs are very often caught, but they can be seen from afar.
Here is Picromerus-and only two ancient tortured 1997 and 1998.
Zicrona only three pieces from MO two ancient one several years ago found.
In general, I usually do not collect bedbugs, I take them on the occasion of interesting ones, mainly pentotomine, but pinicol was specially searched for after catching piece ones (3 is one per season and still on the lawn, pine trees grow along the street).

Eh, it turns out that there is little point in asking at all) Because I have a completely different picture: Picromerus bidens was very common in the Orekhovo-Zuyevsky district in 2019, in August they came across almost every day at the dacha, apparently there was a one-time outbreak of numbers, because in 2020 I saw 3-4 per year at the same dacha.

Yesterday I caught two Piezodorus liturgatus in a pine forest on the outskirts of the city, on a broom tree.
