1 - Cossonus cylindricus

I also think that this is Cossonus cylindricus, I have collected a large series of such elephants (about 50 copies) at the base of a shrunken silver poplar.

I didn't catch anything like this, but a new species was caught for the republic from this subfamily, so we had a lot of trouble with them smile.gif umnik.gif

Many thanks to Aaata(sorry, I don't know your name-Gustava,you didn't specify it),otherwise I don't know much about beetles.

are they both Dytiscus marginalis?

On the left is Cybister lateralimarginalis. On the right, there seems to be a male D. marinalis. But, or it seems to me, the color of the pronotum is strange. Can I get it closer?"

11.07.2011 16:07, botanque

Hmm, it looks like D. dimidiatus. Look, if the processes between the hind legs are rounded, then exactly it. If pointed, then large marginalis. Or try taking a picture.

11.07.2011 16:16, Коллекционер

in my opinion, something in between?

11.07.2011 16:29, botanque

I don't see any sharpness, and the size is too big for marginalis. I think that dimidiatus is.

P.S. It would be nice to indicate where the beetles come from.

here's another ground beetle.

[attachmentid()=115398]

It's similar to Anthracus. Straight, here, on consputus. It makes sense to compare it with something authentic, I only have a Ryazan bug, and the corners of the back of it, like, are more honorable than in the picture.

I just noticed that she wasn't called anything. Thank you. I'm going to fuck her up for being part of this family!
