Tatarstan, Kazan. pine-birch forest. on the fly june 1, 2011
length 1.9

totally confused with this one. it seems that at first I came out on Pityophthorus glabratus, but then I realized that they do not have such denticles on the wheelbarrow. the ramp looks like flat, bare areas along the seam. there are also three small bumps along the seam on each side, then a row of small ones and even further to the edge (visible in the middle photo) with a dozen triangular denticles. ndkr. not drawn back, with clear dotted rows and long hairs, prsp. at the base, it is flat, sparsely and weakly dotted

it looks like Pityophthorus lichtensteini Ratzeburg, this one is just right. We have this species living just in the branches of scots pine

under the bark of spruce, like Bius thoracicus F 6 mm. the points are tangled, the back chest is much longer than the distance between the middle basins.

I may be wrong, and I draw the image to a variable feature, but in this photo the hairs on the antennae are clearly visible, and in Trechus secalis (Paykull, 1790) they are hardly noticeable.

03.07.2011 18:39, MrNo4Noi

I like the ground beetle more like Leistus ?ferrugineus. What is the size of an insect?

03.07.2011 18:43, akulich-sibiria

just under 4 mm...say almost 4 mm

03.07.2011 18:48, MrNo4Noi

Then my version disappears..

That's why I wrote secalis in question, because I don't know exactly the form smile.gif

03.07.2011 18:51, akulich-sibiria

it looks like there are bristles on the outside of the mandibles....is this specific to these genera that have been specified?

03.07.2011 18:57, MrNo4Noi

7. Leistus Foel. The lateral edges of the mandibles are widely spread, the maxillae along the outer edge with a row of spiny cheeks. 6.5-10.

But Trehus fits in size smile.gif

03.07.2011 19:05, Bad Den

This is NOT Leistus 100%

03.07.2011 19:06, akulich-sibiria

something found only one bristle-bearing pore in the back of the third gap. Maybe the first ones just broke off

03.07.2011 19:08, akulich-sibiria

on trekhusa it is similar., but I can't find 3 shch. pores. but judging by the color, size and roundness of the shoulders, the green is exactly like secalis

03.07.2011 19:08, MrNo4Noi

This is not Leistus 100%

I don't argue anymore smile.gif

I almost believed in Trechus secalis (Paykull, 1790), except for the pubescence on the antennae. I really lack the experience to understand this feature frown.gif frown.gif frown.gif

Can you tell me a dead-eating beetle? A few days ago, South Karelia. Necrophorus vespillo?

It is practically possible to determine manure from such a photo. Pubescence of the pronotum and curvature of the hind legs are not visible. Except Vespillo in Karelia M. B. investigator.

Potosia metallica Herbst.
I also thought about the metal part at the beginning. I beat around the bush, but I was confused by the bright spots and stripes of these bronzes in the rest of the photos (sorry dense... maybe it's females and males?). I was looking at zin ran... wall.gif

Svetlana, only P. metallica goes so far north, there are no other species in your region!
