Can Nicrophorus germanicus be found in Kazakhstan? Isn't its range limited to the European part?

According to the" green " identifier, germanicus is found in Central Asia.

According to the" green " identifier, germanicus is found in Central Asia.

Apparently, this is only due to the fact that N. morio was previously (and still is) considered a subspecies of N. germanicus. N.(g). germanicus proper inhabits Europe (including Europe. part of Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus, up to about 50 AD), Transcaucasia, Turkey, Syria, and Western Iran. It is not clear what lives in Kopetdag, only a few specimens are known. In the Lower Volga region, Zavolzhye, on the SouthIn the Urals, in the northern half of Kazakhstan (extending further south along the Dzungarian Alatau), in the southern part of Kazakhstan.N. morio is found in Siberia, Northwestern China, and Mongolia. Their ranges partially overlap between 47-52w and 34-46w. The absence of transitional forms and signs of hybridization is a significant argument in favor of the species status of both forms. This is also confirmed by the data of youth research.
Thus, there is no N. germanicus in Kazakhstan, but N. morio is there (but there is also N. satanas from this group of species).

I don't like to call rhinos dung wink.gifdogs . Both Pentodons, of different species, I can only guess from such photos. In the first photo, probably P. bidens, in the second, probably P. dubius. For a more precise definition, you need clear photos of the front part from above in a slightly straightened and brushed form (so that the shape of the platypus, including the anterior edge, bumps and frontal suture, if any, the shape of the mandible blades and both edges of the front tibia with the foot, are clearly visible).

Both C. lunarus, female and male. Pay attention to the clearly defined median furrow of the pronotum. In C. hispanus females, the horn is as simple and pointed as in males, but smaller and less curved.

Something tells me that you overreacted with the size smile.gif. Judging by the photo, the cat is Ips typographus( typographer), and it has dimensions of about 5-6 mm
. 7-8 mm is the size of a six-toothed bark beetle (Ips sexdentatus), but it has 6 teeth on the wheelbarrow, and not 4 like a typographer.
The second photo is not a coled pupa, but a cocoon of a hymenopteran or dipteran bark beetle.
