Today I visited the Moscow Botanical Garden. Somehow I didn't even recognize it! There used to be so many animals, but now it's empty. Yes, and for dragonflies somehow not very. Sympetrum vulgatum, sanguineum, flaveolum, danae. Aeshna cyanea and Aeshna grandis were once encountered. I remember there were a lot of them, along with the watchers and the Orthetrum cancellatum. And now it's almost zero. Of the equal-winged ones, only Erythromma najas and lyutki, which, in fact, I lay out for definition. Thank you in advance!

Today, on one tip, I visited the area of the Moskva River near Nizhni Mnevniki Street. I was satisfied with the result: a wide variety of dragonfly species, and there are quite unusual ones.
1-3. Ischnura elegans?
4. - ?
5. Can it be a Sympetrum striolatum?
6. Is Libellula fulva really in Moscow in person?
Thank you in advance!

Hello colleagues ! My question may not be quite relevant for this page. But I really need information about the Aeschna juncea (blue rocker arm), can anyone tell me how much it costs, at least approximately ???.

Anyone have a price list with prices for dragonflies.??? Or maybe someone knows where to find it???.. Please tell me, good people!!!![color=red]

I understand. But in S. paedisca, this also happens.

Since only one copy came across on the "point", I had to resort to the help of the forum beer.gif
By the way, for the first time I observed an unusual hunting of a rocker arm (presumably A. grandis) early in the morning in a pine forest, a dragonfly examined the trunks of pine trees, flying in a spiral from bottom to top 10-15 cm from the bark and quite slowly...

IMHO Ch. viridis. It is a pity that the photo of the appendages on the side is not very clear and not quite lateral. Is it possible-if the dragonfly is assembled - to make it larger and more accurate from the side?

Please help me with three copies of Aeshna caught in swamps 100 km north of Moscow today. I'm thinking of something like Aeschna juncea or Aeshna subarctica. Or maybe there are both species present, or someone else. In general, I would like to get acquainted with the exact signs of determining this color in dragonflies. Thank you in advance!

Thanks! This male is captured and spread. When it's dry. I'll make the necessary angles. In any case, as I understand it, the find has a certain interest.

Indeed, Ae. juncea/subarctica. I won't go all the way to the species; my experience with this pair of species is clearly insufficient. Here, even with a copy of good preservation in hand, it is not always clear who is who.

Do you know any works on this topic or someone who can tell you? I have some problems with color preservation, so I keep them in the freezer for now, where they are always fresh.

Color in this case hardly plays a key role.

Here is a special paper on this issue (although it applies to the Netherlands): http://natuurtijdschriften.nl/download?typ...nt&docid=551217

Plus, there are common qualifiers.

I arrived in Crimea today. I immediately found Hemianax ephippiger and Anax parthenope. I expected to see a large variety of Sympetrum, but so far only these same-type dragonflies, presumably Sympetrum fonscolombii, are flying in the mass?

A dragonfly was caught on 11.8.16 in a swamp in the south of the Yaroslavl region (not by me). Because of ethyl acetate faded... I assume that this is a representative of the sem. Corduliidae and possibly Somatochlora. But I can't seem to get out weep.gif

Unlikely. I don't know what kind of view it is yet. Give it to me, please: 1) side view of the breast; 2) general view; 3) "tail" on top and bottom; 4) label.

It is L. virens, a young male. There are spots on the back of the head. You can see them no matter-imho because the head is strongly bent back.

What is meant by spots is the yellow stripe (marked with arrows)?

After wandering around the steppe for a while, I somehow managed to track down a single instance of Sympetrum, which differs from the huge number of Sympetrum fonscolombii. I assume meridionale. Further, in the same way accidentally stumbled upon a female arrow (Ischnura pumilio)? Well, I can't help but boast of the first major prey - a female Hemianax ephippiger!

I apologize for not specifying the location. I hoped I was clever. This is the Crimea, the village of Landslide. In general, in terms of dragonflies, the place is not very good, except for the huge flocks of Hemianax ephippiger.

Good afternoon. Is this an old female orthetrum cancellatum, some other orthetrum, or am I completely past it? Taken in Kiev a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, there are no photos from a different angle.
