Hello again, dear experts.
I will allow myself to repeat, only in a more extended form, a recently asked question.
Can someone tell me what kind of dragonfly is depicted in the photo? And share some very important information about them.
I am interested in the following:
- where and how common are they? I am interested in the north-west of the Black Sea, i.e. Romania, Ukraine, and Crimea.
- how far can they fly out to sea on their own? And how likely is that? By independently, I mean "at will", and not to be carried with the air mass due to the wind.
I am not an expert in entomology at all, and for me this question is interesting as an indirect confirmation of the fact of air mass transfer in one study of the atmosphere. If anyone is interested in learning more, I can tell you in more detail.
Well, if someone has links to scientific publications on issues of interest to me, or just someone will advise the literature on this type of dragonfly, I will be immensely grateful!
And yes, I apologize again for the quality of the photo.

Hello, dragonflies (about five of them) were found on board the ship at this point:
Aeshna isoceles, male
http://www.dragonflypix.com/speciespages/a...soceles_en.html
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aeshna_isoceles

As far as I know, this species is not a very active migrant. That is, it is rather a random drift with air masses. But I might be wrong.
