Was it given a name? If so, which one, and if not, why?

I'm sorry, but what do you mean? Shaposhnikov described a lot of aphids. However, in your question "was the name of the Shaposhnikov aphid given", I thought something was more complicated...

And I read "rank"... I thought it was something to do with the general staff.

I'm talking about the aphids that he bred by transplanting insects into inedible and inedible plants.

No one has described it as a separate species, and it is doubtful that it is a new species.

I think I get it. Shaposhnikov once conducted an experiment with the artificial appearance of a species, transplanting aphids to an unusual type of food plants. The name of the original species and other information can be found in his article in the Etymological Review. It was published, I think, in the 1960s, I can't say more precisely - look in the library.

Thank you.
