This year I caught the first Platyderus in my life, in the vicinity of Rostov-on-Don. He identified it from Kryzhanovsky as P. rufus. Later, in correspondence with Alexander Anishchenko (who recently worked on them), he found out that this group is very complex and that the specimen found "cannot be P. rufus", that it is most likely a new species. But it is very problematic to describe it, because the typical instances are eaten, the descriptions are bad, etc.
And so. Who else caught these beetles. and how did they determine what they were doing with this mess?
How do I even add it to the list?
