I don't know what to photograph yet. But I'll know by the summer. At least in Vespins. Not all at once. I didn't know much about ants either, but I'd learned a lot in 3 years. And I already define them quite well. At a good amateur level. In three or five years, I will also learn to understand wasps at a good amateur level. Yes, and I hope the experts will help.
I can't afford a scientific website. Check out the Bolton ant website! This is a scientific website. Why don't we have anything like that for ants or wasps? Although experts say there are. Thank you if they even write a book. A normal determinant, for example. I am an amateur and make a website for amateurs. My site will be at a good AMATEUR level. In three years, I will bring it to this level. With or without your help. So far, this is just a skeleton. Base. Workbook. Gradually, I will gain the necessary experience and skills, and the site will change accordingly. I do all this for the soul. I have such a whim. But I don't like collecting dry corpses. I won't do it.

For the rest of you who aren't lying on your side, I'll explain in more detail:
A spoonful of baking soda is mixed with a spoonful of citric acid. We fall asleep in a jar and fill it with water. Quickly close the lid with a gas outlet tube. The carbon dioxide released during the reaction is filled with a hermetically sealed vessel. Carbon dioxide is heavier than air. It fills the vessel displacing air. Close the jar with carbon dioxide. We hold the jar of gas vertically and do not open it unnecessarily. Catching a wasp. We throw it into a vessel with carbon dioxide. After 3 minutes, the wasp is ready. We take it out and put it in a white plastic lid. White plastic does not glare, reflects the light from the flash well, and the subject is evenly illuminated from all sides. Just like in the attached photo.
You will have three minutes to take a picture of what you need (genitals, for example). After about three minutes, the wasp starts to wake up. We transplant it to a flower and continue to photograph it point-blank. Ose is not up to you yet, and you still have about three minutes. The wasp washes up and comes to. The main thing here is to understand the moment when she recovered and get away to a safe distance in time. Especially if you're shooting a female hornet. Voila!

You are certainly a big enthusiast. However, your problem is that you are overly aggressive in taking criticism. Everyone just wants to help you, it's just that the general tone of your posts sometimes makes you wonder why you should actually be crucified if a person doesn't want to hear fucking things and still does everything in their own way.
Good luck on your awkward journey wink.gif

I always treat criticism positively and try to correct myself. And I really appreciate your help. And I'm a fast learner. I just sometimes don't like the snobbery and tone of this criticism. Then I respond abruptly. If you are superior to me in this area of knowledge, then I am superior to you in the area where I work myself. We are all adults and accomplished people. That's the way to communicate. No snobbery, giggling, or patronizing pats on the shoulder.

No kidding: I wonder how successful it is to photograph genitals in this way? Have you tried this before?

I'm just getting started on wasps. Before that, I worked on ants for several years (and continue to do so). I have almost no photos of my own OS. While. In this way, I photographed some female ants, which are a pity to kill. Catching some is very rare and lucky. I prefer to keep them alive at home. I remove the corpses of females when they die for some reason and the workers do not have time to pull them apart in parts. If you need to photograph details of males or workers, I usually don't stand on ceremony. These are many and not a pity. The genitals of ants I get something like this:

This is what I shot in this way in my distant childhood on my father's film Zorkiy-6. I took pictures with a lens. Through the viewfinder, you couldn't see what you were shooting at all. So I spent a lot of time setting my camera to a specific location. I put the euthanized wasp there (I extracted carbon dioxide using a siphon to produce carbonated water). I waited for her to wake up and then took pictures. Even then, I liked to shoot the living. There was no question of photographing genitals at that time.
