And yes, I looked at the updated Systematic list of ground beetles (Carabidae) Of Russia. It looks more like a commercial price list a la Francais.
True in places-a la Lorenz.

I also don't really understand the reasons for this synonymization yet. Moreover, the taxon tristiculus Kraatz, 1879 was described from the Suifun River (Razdolnaya), west of Vladivostok. And ssp. nevelskii Shilenkov, 1996 is quite specific morphologically. You need to read the catalog itself.

Having said "A", I will try to argue why I have such an opinion. (I may be wrong shuffle.gif)
For starters, can someone tell us where in Russia coriaceus rugifer and Trachycarabus besseri Fisch., 1820 runs ?

Procrustes coriaceus rugifer-its range extends only 200-300 km North-west from the Carpathian Arc. It would not hurt to look at the Bessarabian coriaceus-and how much it is there rugifer.
[/i]Trachycarabus besseri-like only in the Dnipropetrovsk region. comes east of the Dnieper .

Why are bosphoranus Fisch., 1823 and planus Geh., 1885 considered separate species ?
bosphoranus is quite a subspecies of sibiricus . There are also transitional populations to sibiricus errans .
Carabus (Trachycarabus) perrini planus Gehin, 1885 or campestris Fischer, 1822, as you wish.
A rather polymorphic taxon conditionally divided into two subspecies of Nominatives: with a rough elite sculpture - mountain Crimea. With a smoother, sometimes mirror-smooth surface, inhabiting the South of Ukraine and up to Transcaucasia-actually ssp. planus Geh., 1885 .
Oh, yes, that's where the legs grow from.

And this is in a country with the best carabidological traditions.

Link to the article I. Rapuzzi 2012 on Carabus taxa from the Far East:
Preliminary notice on the genus Carabus Linnaeus, 1758 (Coleoptera, Carabidae) of the islands of Peter the Great Gulf in the far East of Russia, Primorski province, Vladivostok area with description of a new subspecies

Trachycarabus besseri in the fauna of Russia also puzzled me. But, most likely, this is a consequence of copying information from the 1995 checklist, on the basis of which the list of ground beetles of Russia was compiled. It lists the sub-regions A (the Ukrainian Carpathians and Transcarpathia) and D (the southern part of the Russian Plain) for besseri. This very Territory includes Moldova, part of Ukraine (the Dnieper and the Dnieper region) and part of the steppe and semi-desert zones in Russia itself. So, C. besseri was given for the territory of the former USSR, and it seems that it was thrown into the Russian fauna "automatically".
Also on the list, I have long been interested in the range specified for Megacephala euphratica-Genus: Megacephala Latr., 1802
Subgenus: Grammognatha Motsch., 1850
euphratica Dej., 1822 Distribution: 23
ssp. armenica Laporte, 1834 Distribution: 23
Encoding of sub-regions:2 - Ciscaucasia and the Caucasus (which, in general, is understandable), and 3-Western Siberia! Naturally, Kryzhanovsky doesn't have any Siberia on his Checklist.

Yes, somehow the list of ground beetles of Russia does not quite correspond to its name.
How, for example, did these Abkhazian taxa get to the territory of Russia?:

I wanted to write about this to Kirill Makarov - but somehow everything was postponed - maybe I'll write to him - since such moments - without argument-are better to be removed for now.

and real taxa have disappeared-such as Deltomerus tibialis - which is not uncommon in the area of the sources of the Adylsu and Daut Rivers in the Ryndzhi-Murudzhu tract. and like earlier was with piske

Can you tell me what kind of subspecies does mestscheryakovi - irkoutskensis have? Where can I find information about it?

03.10.2014 11:15, Бомка

. Carabus (Morphocarabus) mestscheryakovi ssp. irkoutskensis Lapouge, 1915

An obvious error.
It is a subspecies of C. odoratus.
You
should have both mestscherjakovi and odoratus there.
