Wouldn't it be easier to ask friends traveling to the Czech Republic to buy it? Here, merchants usually cheat a lot...

Yes, I have very few friends who go to the Czech Republic who can be strained by such things.. Perfume or eau de toilette to buy - no problem, and this is the specifics:) And then, even with a super-roll, these dies are worth a penny...

A friend of mine (who goes to the Czech Republic) said that they are not cheap...

They are unlikely to cost more than $ 10-15 per pack. And I only need 3-4 sizes... 100 pieces each.. I think I can handle this amount:) But no one in Moscow, in my opinion, offers them now:((True, I haven't been to the "Bird" for a long time.. Mei bi, is there something in there?"

What's so special about them?
Why can't you stick it on a thick drawing board?

You can also use Whatman. But I like the order, the aesthetics:) Not to mention the convenience.

I saw an interesting thing in Blagoveshchensk at the department of A. N. Streltsov: they drew dies on a computer, printed them on a laser printer on film (the film is mandatory for a laser printer, it is not suitable for an inkjet printer), cut and glued small beetles. On one sheet, a whole bunch of dies can fit. Aesthetics at the level, you can see through the film of the beetle from the reverse side, if you do not re-stick with glue, they peel off easily. Yes, they glue the BF. I tried it and liked it. I wanted to attach a sample drawing to the message, but I can't figure out how.

Great about the film! I'll have to try it out.
I do it myself from whatman by eye and also use CF. The only problem is that sometimes oil spots appear on the die.

Well, you give a damn...

Whatman is very convenient, cut out a die of any shape and size!
And I glue it with sugar. For relatively large beetles - sah.sand., and for very small ones - the same sand but I crush it on the table with a scalpel blade (powder is obtained). Then I sprinkled the dies on the moistened spot, planted the beetle and it's ready.
And without 10-15$... and the aesthetics are enough and quite comfortable. In addition, if necessary, the beetle is easily removed from the die and washed from sugar.

Well, what can I say? Let's go back to the 19th century. Let's glue on sugar, celluloid dissolved in pear essence or nail polish! lol.gif
ALL normal etomologists around the world stick to PVA or its analogues. (it dissolves perfectly in water)

How is sugar worse than PVA?
Sugar can be given everywhere and always (for example, on an expedition).

Don't be offended, I've tried everything in my time... In a few years, insects will fly safely from sugar. Sugar syrup crystallizes over time.
PVA seems to be also not a shortage, there is in any general store in kanzbum.
And why did you need to glue insects in the field, on an expedition? This is something new..

You never know, anything happens...

By the way, I glue not with syrup, but with moistened sugar, powdered sugar. Dries in a few minutes. It turns out a crystal (sometimes a single one) with the lower part of the beetle submerged.

But the perfect dissolution of PVA in water is not the best option (by the way, in this case, CMC is better than PVA, since it does not leave any visible traces). But sometimes, when determining, you have to get wet, for example, to turn your head or spread your wings or mandibles. When using PVA, the entire object is separated.
Personally, I have been using the classic celluloid solution in pear essence for more than 30 years and have never had any complaints about it. wink.gif

Colleagues. Gentlemen. People!!! SOS! The question remained open. Maybe someone has a pack or two of the usual smile.gifMorfov dies filled up. I will be in Moscow for one day and therefore searches for the Bird or orders via net will not go. I would be very grateful for the correct address or other help.

2 AGG: write to this address - antversgСОБАКАmtu-net.ru The seller's name is Andrey, he seems to be from somewhere in Moscow or the Moscow region. It should have dies, at least in the fall there were smile.gifstill
