Containers for collecting and storing insects

Community and ForumEntomological collectionsContainers for collecting and storing insects

Several topics have already raised the issue of various containers for collecting and storing insect collections. Here, for example, various containers with a lid made of polypropylene - I store alcohol charges in them myself. So far, I haven't noticed a strong exhalation of alcohol (if you close it tightly), as well as centrifuge tubes with and without scales, of different calibers and volumes for every little thing; on the bottom right, with a screw-down lid with a rubber gasket just for alcohol charges. I bought everything at MSU in the Almalab store http://www.almalab.ru/, you can pay for both cash and non-cash payments.

I use cans of some kind of medicine. And the ear stick containers(on the left) also work well. Everything is hermetically sealed.

But, in fact, "large-caliber artillery" - tanks used to collect a large number of large live insects, for example, grasshoppers or locusts. There is a lot of space in such containers, and you can also place a bouquet of forage plants or rot with the ground. Plastic containers for various food products (coffee, salt, sugar, etc.). For ventilation, it is necessary to make a certain number of holes in the walls.

Centrifuge tubes are a great thing! Very convenient, take up little space. And for what is larger-from under the film jars smile.gif
