The article mentions the preparation of a catalog of the lepidoptera of Mongolia. What is this catalog, when will it be released, and who are its authors?

The article mentions the preparation of a catalog of the lepidoptera of Mongolia. What is this catalog, when will it be released, and who are its authors?

I am the author of the proposed Catalog of Butterflies of Mongolia (higher lepidoptera other than toadstools and moths). He worked intermittently in Mongolia from 1983 to 2008. He traveled the length and breadth of the country as the head of the Entomological Unit of the SRMKBE RAS and ASM. In the squad took assistants in the amount of 5-7 people. They caught everything day and night. I'm currently processing the collected material. Some groups are already ready, but for some-a complete blockage! The catalog will be the final publication on the butterflies of Mongolia. Before the Catalog, 2 books and a series of articles will be published. The first one is almost ready. It's about the moths of Mongolia. Full-color version. I make the layout myself. The KMC will publish it. Here are some pies!

But nothing prevents you from unpacking this PDF from the publisher, then scanning it again and making your" own " PDF.
And your conscience will be clear. wink.gif

A dubious loophole... If you use it, then just in case of fire, it's better to redo at smile.gifleast some difference in the DJVU format!

I think it's all because of greed! Yes, and it's stupid in our time. In the end, I, as the author, can print out this pdf and send it to anyone who asks for it. I can also send you the print that they agreed to give me. I can also make a new pdf from my edited manuscript. I can take a photo of my article in our library and send it to everyone in jpg format. In addition, anyone can go to the library and read/copy this article. In other words, there is no limit to the ways to spread knowledge to the masses!

At the moment, a similar illustrated book on Mongolia is being prepared by comrades from Hungary. I am sure that the parallel publication of such books is very important, since Mongolia is home to a fair number of controversial taxa-even in such popular groups as hawk moth, diaries. I am sure that the preparation of these works will allow us to deal with a number of complex issues. Moreover, there is already one version available for daytime use

As an insider, I would like to inform you that Hungarian friends are preparing several books on "toadstools" at once, one of which will be devoted to the fauna of Mongolia. I've also heard about the idea of making a book on Mongolian moth, but I don't know the details.

A very long time ago, Igor Kostyuk (Kiev) said that detailed work on the moth of Mongolia is almost ready. Having a very high interest in this country and considering it the most promising territory in the Eastern Palearctic, I try to track everything that concerns Mongolia. I myself was on 9 large (month) trips to only Z. Mongolia is a wonder - we roam terra incognita. All to Mongolia. See the photo on "Fishing Reports" - and you will go there. But no parnassius, colias-forget about this birth...

Rum, and whether entomological life glimmers in Ulaanbaatar or where is the thread in which ulus? Just wondering if you know.

16.08.2011 6:22, Yakovlev

life glimmers. Even on the butterflies of Hangai, a Mongolian woman defended her dissertation in Heidelberg. Some work is underway, and there is a specialist who is constantly working in Korea. Deals with beetles. By the way, he is the head of the Department of Zoology in Ulaanbaatar. If you have any specific questions, write to me and I'll give you the coordinates.

Dear colleagues! At the end of last year, A. H. Saulich and I published an article:

Saulich A. Kh., Musolin D. L., 2011. Diapause in the seasonal cycle of scutellates (Heteroptera, Pentatomidae) of the temperate zone. Entomological Review, vol. 90 (4): 740-774.

After a futile attempt to get a PDF file of the Russian version of the article, we had to scan it ourselves. The scan (large enough - 25 Mb) is available here: http://files.mail.ru/C97U0C or by request to my email address.

Translated into English by Musolin D. L. & Saulich A.Kh., 2011. Diapause in the seasonal cycle of stink beetles (Heteroptera, Pentatomidae) from the Temperature Zone. Entomological Review. 2012. Vol. 92 (1): 1–26.

available here: <http://www.springerlink.com/content/r4l43521376v6g57/> or by request to my email [pdf: 794 Kb]

The app contains a complete list of my works. I will be happy to send you any other pdf files.
