Males hatch in the second decade of June.Females -in a week. They live an average of 2 weeks. In captivity (in the refrigerator)-up to two months.
The largest individuals, oddly enough, are found on paved roads. Apparently, this is due to earlier foliage blooming and better warming up.
As for skittishness - a controversial issue-sometimes you can take it with your bare hands, especially in busy places. Flowers of umbrella plants are sometimes visited by heavily flown individuals (observation 20.06.2010)
I've been watching the view since 1986.
