Some strange Cicindela (Cicindela) campestris Linnaeus, 1758 confused.gif
Pontica?

but still, I also wonder what characteristics distinguish the subspecies
can someone write

07.05.2014 16:01, AGG

for me, so the usual campestris. we have all sorts of them

07.05.2014 16:21, vasiliy-feoktistov

Yes, I was too small white spots confused. It is also interesting to know by what criteria the subspecies are divided. Next time I'll go there and pick up campestris (s) specifically.

07.05.2014 16:39, AGG

last year, in the Lipetsk region, I caught campestris without a hint of a white pattern at all, in places where there should be white spots, only small dark dots, but I haven't straightened them yet shuffle.gif
and these are from the Tambov region

Here is a typical companion of Cicindela (Cicindela) campestris Linnaeus, 1758 smile.gif from my district:
24.04.1999 Moscow region, okr., Zheleznodorozhny.
And the previous one was built for 100 versts to the east and looks very different.
I will definitely fill the series there next time.
picture: campestris.jpg

I will add for comparison from the previous post:
picture: 009.JPG
All the differences are obvious.

I wonder if there will be different or the same phenotype in the series from one place?

I wonder if there will be different or the same phenotype in the series from one place?

So I want to find out. Local, from the Railway series I have and almost the same in it all.

18.05.2014 3:31, I.solod

in a pontic, the pre-apical spot is always connected to the apical one by a thin bridge and a number of other signs-but collectively (but not separately)

is there a geographical division? does it make sense to distinguish subspecies from a variable type, if we are not talking about mountains and so on ?

19.05.2014 17:22, I.solod

yes, and especially the pontica does not overlap with the nominative-there is a true problem of subspecific interpretation of the Crimean mountain campestris-and from the plains-there is a pontica everywhere.

I've worked a lot on them (the last 2 works) - especially with the Mediterranean islands and mountain systems-now I'm sitting and sorting them out. fortunately, there is enough material. From the Caucasus, a new species and a bunch of subspecies described.

And no one has any images of Cylinders dokhtourowi?

30.11.2015 18:59, I.solod

I will do it soon, but not so much - there is no time and opportunity now to layer them, and as luck would have it, the camera is discharged - I put it on a charge, and so I have already prepared a female and a male

I took a picture of her, but I can't find this archive right now

Otherwise, I can't understand the difference between C. dokhtourowi( which I can hardly imagine at all), C. obliquefasciata, and C. descendens
