last year, in the Lipetsk region, I caught campestris without a hint of a white pattern at all, in places where there should be white spots, only small dark dots, but I haven't straightened them yet shuffle.gif

Here is a typical companion of Cicindela (Cicindela) campestris Linnaeus, 1758 smile.gif from my district:
24.04.1999 Moscow region, okr., Zheleznodorozhny.
And the previous one was built for 100 versts to the east and looks very different.
I will definitely fill the series there next time.

in a pontic, the pre-apical spot is always connected to the apical one by a thin bridge and a number of other signs-but collectively (but not separately)

yes, and especially the pontica does not overlap with the nominative-there is a true problem of subspecific interpretation of the Crimean mountain campestris-and from the plains-there is a pontica everywhere.

I've worked a lot on them (the last 2 works) - especially with the Mediterranean islands and mountain systems-now I'm sitting and sorting them out. fortunately, there is enough material. From the Caucasus, a new species and a bunch of subspecies described.
