Here is a question for everyone who has caught such ground beetles. In green, the simplest and most noticeable distinguishing feature of this species from the similar proximus is the color of the antennae. Has anyone ever encountered such incorrectly colored specimens of this species? This is definitely mixtus. The beetle was collected in the Moscow region.

Ground beetles of this species stay near water, predators. In the Moscow region, the view is quite common.

Actually, I wanted to ask about the darkening of the mustache. In this case, they are blackened not with 4 parts, but with 2, as in the green proximus.

That's it! I therefore could not identify them by "green" for a long time because of this coloration of the antennae. There is a good article about them in the library of Denis Potanin (oh, thanks Bad Den!) on the Zinovsky website: A. V. Matalin - Ground beetles of the genus Stenolophus Steph. (Coleoptera, Carabidae) fauna of Russia and adjacent territories.

I have a series of this type, but now, unfortunately, is not available. We need to take the beetle to 101. They'll sort it out there smile.gif

Yes, it was only thanks to Matalin's article that I dispelled my doubts. smile.gif So, the wrong color of their antennae is common. Or there is an error in green. This isn't my first copy either. with a similar color scheme.
