Phyllopertha horticola (L., 1758) ???
South Siberia, Altai, Shebalinsky district, 3 km SEKumalyr.
June 2003
Here is such an unusual instance I came across. In addition to beetles with the main color of elithras (red-brown), there were specimens with completely black elytra. I put the definition with a question mark, because I do not have information on Siberian subspecies!

Interesting shape. I've never seen one like it before. The fact is that in this species there are very frequent cases (usually in females, but in this case - male) of variations expressed in the color of the elytra and, as a rule, these are smooth transitions, when the color of the shoulder tubercles and scutellum is normal (brown-yellow) and at the tops almost black, sometimes with a metallic low tide....
The definition is normal, since there are no other species and subspecies other than Phyllopertha horticola(L., 1758) in the territory you specified.
Sincerely,....
