a topic dedicated to a single species? or am I misunderstanding something? Maybe rename the theme to "Eupithecia Moth"?

17.02.2008 12:39, Pavel Morozov

You can rename it to the theme Geometridae, Larentinae

There are no objections. I just don't know how to do it

Only you can do this (or a curator/moderator): to the right of the flower, in the header of the first post, there is an "Edit post" button - by editing the first post, you can change the name of the entire topic.

1-virgaureata, even more likely than the previous one, since it is less flown
2-it may very well be

I would say that these are 2 different butterflies and I think both are not veratraria. The first one , in my opinion, is the same as those attributed to virgaureata. In general, Eupithecia is very difficult.

Then it is correct if I label them as Eupithecia sp.? - so as not to mislead

Maybe rename the theme to Eupithecia before it's too late?
These are all-MO, south of the Ozuyevsky district, Antsiferovo.

picture: eupithecia_icterata.jpgEupithecia icterata. In my opinion, one of the most beautiful representatives of the genus.

E. abbreviata is a Western European spring species, I know it and it's not it. In Central Russia, it does not exist at all.

Therefore, I correct it - I leave it as Eupithecia sp. until someone can clarify)

Here's a thought: This Eupithecia sp (URL#15) may be a form of icterata.

It looks like threads don't last long.
Pyadenitsy R. Eupithecia: URL #12 008_A005570.jpg is a representative of a different kind! - Anticollix sparsata

"Here's a thought: This Eupithecia sp (URL#15) may be a form of icterata" - yes.

URL #16 post-20147-1203762967 (4.8.2007 and next, 13.08) - most likely Eupithecia sobrinata (=pusillata).

In general, a number of " types! eupitecium is hardly worth exposing for determination - you need to genitalize, and even then it is not always reliable (the literature on the image of genital apparatuses is also imperfect, I would do better smile.gif
