Hello everybody!
Just arrived from Nepal. At the beginning, there are a few snapshots to seed.
We were there from July 20 to August 1, mainly in Pokhara (Central Nepal), tried to climb mountains, but not very high, caught the light. The season is not the most suitable, in terms of quantity and diversity, it is not the best, but in general, I am very satisfied. Lots of impressions!
In the future, I will post the results on the forum in the following topics:: "fishing reports", "photos of insects", "features of light fishing", "the attitude of ordinary people to entomologists" (this is generally a fun topic) , etc.

For starters, general information.
Collected at an altitude of 800-1300 m above the Norya level, the air temperature during the day is 32-36, at night - 26-30 degrees, high humidity, at night, from about 11 pm-heavy torrential rain for up to 4-5 hours with interruptions. The eight-thousand-meter peaks were always hidden behind clouds, and just before we left, we saw the peaks of the Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Machapuchre and Annapurna mountains. It was like a miracle! (see the first photo). From 11-12 o'clock in the afternoon to 4-5 in Pokhara it is sunny, it roasts mercilessly, I must say, in hot hours not even every day butterfly will fly. At night, the numbers from the 28th more or less flew. And before that, it really sucks.
The landscape is diverse, but there are few untouched places left. Mountain forests are reduced to agricultural land, and terraces with rice fields or corn grow instead of forests. Below is a typical landscape of low-and mid-mountain Nepal.

A fellow student of mine lives in Pokhara, who helped us with the placement and more. We found a lovely hotel near a good forest, along the edge of which, I will say looking ahead, Troides also flew!

The most interesting thing, of course, is where it is higher. For example, in Sarangkot (about 1500 m), in the vicinity of Pokhara.
Unfortunately, the rains did their job and the road to Sarangkot was badly damaged by a landslide. Therefore, they did not go higher than 1300 m. But still, it's interesting. Slightly higher and cooler and more comfortable.
Pohara itself is located at an altitude of about 800 m, the decoration of those places is the Fewa Tal Lake

We visited Nepal during the wettest time, which is fraught not only with landslides.
The most unpleasant impression was made by ground leeches. On the slippery forest paths during the monsoon, there are so many of them in some places that you don't have time to take them off your feet. Of course, there are a lot of leeches on the buffalo trails, and there are a lot of buffaloes.
The leech is small at all, so imperceptibly crawls on shoes and penetrates through the fabric of socks that you can only notice the parasite when it is pumped and falls off, and the shoes get dirty with blood that does not clot for a long time.
But, forewarned means armed, my wife and I were never bitten by any of them, but we took them off many times. But other people were less lucky, such as the Korean tourists who met us on the way, some of them had two leeches on their legs.
At night, mosquitoes bite, but not particularly annoying.

half the word was there... He said, like, he wants to go to the sea, warm his ass. And when they asked him where exactly, he answered: "I don't know how to warm my ass, we haven't decided yet. But abroad somewhere. "

There are no words! jump.gif jump.gif I choked with delight and white-white envy, a little bitter from the fact that I probably won't be in the distant Amazon myself, or even in Nepal frown.gif weep.gif... Thank you very much, dear Morozzz, for a great start to the story! But enough procrastination, let's go on, on, on!!!
By the way, I allowed myself, to the extent of my modest abilities, to photograph your barbel, with the light hand of Ripper called ghost, and a beautiful specimen of Batocera sp loomed.

I don't like halva either. And I don't want to go to the Far East yet. That's a coincidence.

I love halva and black caviar just obazhayu!
and I also really like all sorts of Duty Freeeeeeeee with everything so delicious!
And as for the non-disclosure of my intentions, I will say that I did not specifically tell anyone until the last moment. Something like a sign or tradition.
To continue, take more photos.
The Belostoma bug flew out of the lake into the light. I starved this image for two hours.
I was afraid to pick it up.

Helps (helped?) old DETA, the one that is toxic, can not be pregnant, etc. etc. Tested in Thailand in 2000. Since then, a new DETA layer has appeared in stores - will it be effective?
