Interesting little animal smile.gif
It comes across for some reason constantly not on the foliage, but on the roads and all the time singly and infrequently:
Chrysolina sturmi (Westhoff, 1882)
11.08.2002 Moscow region, Balashikha district, Zheleznodorozhny district.

For comparison, two representatives of the Moscow region genus Lilioceris Reitter, 1912 (the easiest to distinguish by the color of the legs).
1) Lilioceris merdigera (Linnaeus, 1758) (27.05.1999г.).
2) Lilioceris lilii (Scopoli, 1763) (29.04.2002).
Both species were collected at different times on lilies of the valley (dates in parentheses), here: Moscow region, Balashikha district, the village of Poltevo. Moreover, L. merdigera is full always and everywhere, but L. lilii can be said to be rare in my area and it is a great happiness to find it. I wonder why this is so? After all, the species are close confused.gif

L. lilii is an introduced plant, imported from Asia with lilies, it lives only on them, and merdigera is our native, it has adapted to live on many lilies of the valley, it is constantly found on our lilies of the valley.

Ugh-you forgot that I'm a curator and accidentally clicked the wrong button instead of answering mol.gif
It turns out that lilii is already settling lilies of the valley a little (judging by my forest finds) confused.gif. And that he is an introducer: I didn't know, Thank you!

but all the same, L. lilii somehow goes more to dachas and vegetable gardens. In the forest, can he eat grouse? I haven't seen him in the lilies of the valley yet. Lilii is also very rare in our country.

It was lilies of the valley (I caught them myself). Especially with other wild lilies, we have a problem.

would you like to check this specimen for belonging to the species Lilioceris faldermanni (Guerin-Meneville, 1829)?
On the Zinovsky site there are Benkovsky's determinative tables. I have three instances from the Caucasus L. faldermanni

Crioceris duodecimpunctata L.
Kaliningrad region, Pionersky district, August 2009

In the Kaliningrad region, this species is found almost exclusively in garden plots and dachas, on a variety of cultivated plants (asparagus, hydrangeas, lilies), very often together with Crioceris lilii. Probably also an introducer.
