I start the topic with a photo of perhaps the most interesting narrow wing near Moscow:
Calopus serraticornis Linnaeus, 1758 (male).
Bug caught: 29.04.1997 Here: M. O. Sergiev Posad district, okr. der. Golkovo, at night, in the light.
From the first time for a barbel of some kind can be taken. Isn't that right? confused.gif

I caught it in the light only 2 times in single copies, but in one place. I've heard somewhere or read that it can be used on coniferous trees (pine wood) find more?

I collected it once a long time ago in a dead fir tree. The beetles were in the center of the trunk at ground level.
On light as something doin times flew.

I confirm the words of my Tyumen colleague - in May on the pines. True, I found a couple of pieces on a live pine tree, a young teenager.

The beetle is very common, but because of the secrecy of its habitat, it is considered rare by many.
I caught it right in Yaroslavl (in the district of private development) in the light (late April-early May) and collected it in series at the very beginning of May under the lagging bark of dead pines and firs... Once, in early summer, I found larvae in a fir tree, dragged it to the balcony , and by autumn I cut down the metamorphosed beetles from the dead wood.

In South Primorye, it is quite common in broad-leaved and mixed forests. Narrow wing with non-narrow elytra.

Ditylus laevis is a very rare beetle in Yaro (as well as in the center of Russia). For 20 years, we (Elizar, Anthrenus, Dmitrich) collected two beetles. One in the swamp, the second on a pile of dead alders, pritaranennoy schoolchildren for a fire (in the valley of a small river...) .

In the Penza region, the species was found in 2006 and 2007 in the vicinity of the Shalkeev cordon on fords with washed logs across the Belaya, Medayevka, and Zhurchalka rivers. There is a very peculiar biotope, according to the description of botanists, "the release of the southern taiga" due to the relief - deep river valleys between heights with pine forest, a difference of 150m. The climate is much colder than in the region, the delay in plant phenology is 1.5-2 weeks later than usual. Imagos do not seem to live long, because in 2009 they arrived a week later and not a single beetle (I climbed all the streams and fords), and earlier I saw about 10.

At one time, I had a barrel of water in my garden under a lilac bush, so during the flowering of Calopus serraticornis they regularly arranged drownings in this barrel at night, during the night 2-3 pieces at least satisfied their suicidal inclinations

Well, it was just the right time for them to die...

D. laevis F. It is included in the CC of the Leningrad Region, and we also want to include it in our CC (see above Shibaev S. V.). Even with Seryoga, we wrote a preliminary essay on it in " Maintaining the CC of the Penza Region (2008)". As far as I remember, this boreal species was previously unknown in the Volga region...
