Lygaeus equestris and Lygaeus simulans. Outwardly very similar, for a long time naturally confused.
In particular, until recently, the presence of Lygaeus simulans, including in the Kharkiv region, was not clear.
They differ well in the shape of the tubercle of the attachment of the antennae and the place of attachment of the antennae themselves.

Lygaeus equestris (Linnaeus, 1758)
30.08.2010, Kharkiv region, Izyum district, Malaya Kamyshevakha village.

Lygaeus simulans Deckert, 1985

I noticed the topic a little late, but I looked it up with interest.
As for vasiliy-feoktistov's beetles from 21.09.2010: the second bug is correctly identified, but the first one is not, despite a lively discussion of its food preferences smile.gif. This is Troilus luridus (Fabricius, 1775).

He has a mustache with a red stripe . I looked through bedbugs of Racognathus, they seem to have this stripe on their antennae no. confused.gif

It's not just the stripe on the mustache. The main noticeable difference is the flattened rounded corners of the pronotum.

In that case, I'd like to introduce my Rhacognathus punctatus:

I already had it, but I have a different color scheme, green Zicrona caelurea:
