This is what lardarius looks like. True, this is a slightly worn copy from the old collections.

Like, not so much shabby as fat. This is often the case with lardariuses: fat already spreads over the die.

yes.gif Not only with lardariuses: it seems that the whole genus Dermestes is like that. Apparently, it depends on the environment. By the way: the same problem with the two views I presented above.

A frequent guest this year at my home, on the balcony. I hope it doesn't belong in my collection. lol.gif

You are lying, Vasya - how can you not hope, if you have more than contributed to the realization of his aspirations-now where is he, if not in the collection? wink.gif
By the way, if you are serious: this particular species does not harm entomological collections.

Is there no dried fish on the balcony?

I don't have. But a supermarket is "stuck" to the house: apparently they fly from there.

At my Institute of Biochemistry, lardarius is occasionally found on windowsills in the summer - despite the fact that we don't have any collections of insects, dried meat or fish there. However, in the same complex of buildings with us is IPEE with zoologists, apparently he is rushing from there smile.gif

Not necessarily, it is quite possible that they live in the attic, especially if birds nest there...
