Representatives of this group often amaze the imagination with a variety of life forms of imagos and larvae, but for some reason they are undeservedly forgotten on our forum. Let's restore justice together, join us! smile.gif

Let's start with the most exotic reticulatoptera, the nemoptera (family Nemopteridae).

Nemoptera sinuata, Khosrov Nature Reserve, Armenia.

By the way, I have always been interested in this group of insects, with their diversity in appearance and lifestyle at different stages. The mantispa in this photo is just like Rodin's thinker smile.gif

Yes, it is also very cunning - you will not get close enough to take a picture, it turns around and follows you)

Here is a panorpa ("scorpion fly") - almost the same field of yagoda - it is one pleasure to take photos

The family Mymeleontidae, Palpares libelluloides, is one of the largest lions with a wingspan of 13-14 cm! It lives in the Mediterranean, Near East and Transcaucasia.

Great! Similar ones in Turkey came across, the truth has not yet determined.
By the way, the larvae of palpares do not build hunting craters, but wait for prey in ambush under various shelters. It's a pity to look at the funnel of a lion larva of this size smile.gif

I sent a question about zlagoglazka, and the group specialist answered:

"Chrysopa perla (as in the picture, only on the crown of the head there is a black ring, and the band on the prothorax is broken into fragments), and Chrysoperla carnea (there are no dark spots on the body, there are reddish stripes on the cheeks) were also called golden-eyed common.

The picture is probably Chrysopa walkeri, but it's a pity that you can't see the face. Where exactly was it taken? If far beyond the Urals, then this is Chrysopa intima. If not very far away, then who can sort it out now, without a face... And the crown is so yellow, because the frame, in general, is yellowish? And it's a little strange to see her out in the open. Is this the edge of the forest?"
the question is rhetorical.
