This year I visited Georgia twice. Once In Azerbaijan. Together with Vladimir Lukhtanov, he made a memorable trip on his old Niva through Georgia and Turkey to Nakhichevan.
In addition, there were good trips to Dagestan and the North Caucasus.
A lot of observations and pictures have been made that will be posted on our website "Butterflies of the Caucasus".

I remember:
Vashlovansky Nature Reserve.

picture: _________.jpg

I found a fat man in Talysh. It's probably Bradyporus oniscus.

picture: njkcney.jpg

In Turkey, I came across a beautiful dybka that rode with me to Pyatigorsk and laid eggs. We are waiting for the offspring.

image: _____. jpg

The first time I saw Tomares romanovi.

image: _______. jpg

I shot David the Hawk Moth live

image: _______. jpg

I remember the visit to the museum of Leonid Vladimirovich Kaabak.

image: ______. jpg

Yes, I almost forgot, I moved to a new house, which I built for 7 years and where I can now receive guests! shuffle.gif

Good idea! I support you!

The year passed as usual-quickly, with a lot of shocks and disappointments...

Most of all, I remember the trip to Moscow for the entomological bursa.
picture: Bursa_1.jpg
picture: Bursa_9.jpg

And walking around Moscow

picture: Bursa_Mos_39.jpg

Of the trips to the Saratov region, the most memorable were:
Budanova Gora (two super-finds)
picture: BudGora225_5.jpg

Gerbil (just a lot of interesting beetles)
picture: Peschanka_8.jpg

Teplovka (a pair of interesting weevils)

Rybushki (there are few finds, but I remember the terrible windmill)

And of course-I remember the exciting moment of defending my thesis)

My season was spent in my favorite forests of Petushinsky district, Vladimir region.
Oh and these regions are rich in good nature smile.gif
A lot has been found, but not all of what should be there yet.....
Next season I will continue to monitor these magical places smile.gif

Dear colleagues! I want to share with you a photo essay from the main
event in my life in the outgoing year 2014 (consisting of four parts with 20 photos
each).
This is the development and implementation of another public object in the Kaluga region.
The object consists of a tropical forest with trees 6-8 meters high,
an exhibition of nocturnal tropical animals, aviaries with primates, a waterfall, a section of a mountain river, a lake, a mini-museum of insects and minerals.
The rainforest area consists of more than 250 species and varieties of plants, shrubs and trees.
The facility was designed, built and commissioned in just 10 months.
Happy New Year 2015 to all of you !

Dear Aurelian, in the photos, the material is located
according to the temporary layout for the opening of the complex on June 1, 2014.
Much of this date was still on the straightening boards, and it was necessary to make stands without gaps for the opening. Installation, changes and additions to the exhibition are still ongoing. Thank you for your post!
I would like to note that in the coming year 2015, I have already signed an agreement to create a similar permanent complex in one of the resort towns on the Black Sea coast of Russia.

Sparrows are not far from me,the bird park is popular with people, especially in the summer-and this exhibition is new in the park-you need to go and see it-it's a good thing.

And when will such a park be built in Saratov? And then we have only mud and steppe all around

Yeah! You need to do something well, or not do it at all, especially when it has to do with popularization and education..... The idea is great, only incorrect labels and not straightened insects-shame on you!!!!
Yes, and the exposition is really being updated and CORRECTED, but, thank God, not by you, Alexander, you know who, I think (not by me smile.gif). To date, of your own, in fact, there are 4 boxes left.... 40 boxes are made anew! There is a difference in the words "popularization" and "populism", especially when it smells like money. I know how all this was done, given that the trustees of Vorobyov are people I personally know. The idea is beautiful, only implemented with a shame. Be proud of hastily put together with profanity..... well, well! Is it really pleasant for yourself? And it is not necessary to rub everything that it was necessary to pass, therefore the temporary scheme...... the main thing is to believe what you say.... with this, however, you never had any problems.

Pavel, thank you very much for another healthy criticism!
I will try to make sure that in December 2015, everything was without a hitch,
both in the photos from my new object, and in real life!
And money is the main thing for me - I don't hide it!
And if someone doesn't need them, they can give them to me!
Happy New Year 2015, Pavel.
I wish you success, health and many new interesting expeditions!

And Happy New Year 2015 to you! Once again, the idea is great!!!! Only nice when done correctly and not in a hurry. I think that it is better to give up some of the money until the work is done, or for that matter, until EVERYTHING is ready, as it SHOULD look, not to put up these photos with names that distort the entomologist's eyes and insects that are not mounted, so as not to discredit your honest name smile.gif
I wish you every success and self-improvement in the Coming Year!

I didn't go very much this year, unlike the previous one - I spent a couple of weeks in ZINA in the spring, and from May 15 to July 1, I took a ride with a botanist friend in Turkish Kurdistan and Iran. I managed to work in the Turkish provinces of Van and Hakkari and the Iranian provinces of Esfahan, Lorestan, Kurdistan and West Azerbaijan. Turkish Kurdistan is not a new land for me (although I haven't been to Hakkari before, I was very lucky to get there this time), but Iran turned out to be a novelty, despite the fact that I have been working closely with the material from there for the last few years. A stunning country, beautiful mountains, good-natured and friendly people-and a huge field for research. In general, one of the priority areas in the coming years.

The year 2014 was marked by climatic anomalies: winter honey mushrooms were collected on January 12 and picture: 2.jpgDecember 22... image: _____. jpgit was early spring and the level of the Volga River, reservoirs and tributaries was very low.
And the entire field season was held in the Yaroslavl region under the sign of a survey of protected areas to study diversity and search for"Red Book" people... The result was the discovery of several species of beetles new to the YAO (for example: Scolytus sulcifrons); new "points" of Red Book beetles and butterflies (for the first time in 90 years, a population of Phoebe's draughtsman was found) and many photos…

A great theme beer.gifto remember the brightest moments of the outgoing year!

the beginning of the season (April) was marked by two pleasant catches-olenka and "fluffy"

after all these joys that came across on the weekend, I was waiting for a routine..
[attachmentid()=214644]
[attachmentid()=214645]

and then...the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania was waiting for me jump.gif beer.gif
[attachmentid ()=214646]
[attachmentid()=214647]
in the middle zone there was a drought all year, and in Alagir, where we were based, there was not a day without rain. But despite this, I fished both night and day. Very pleased golubyanochk: bellargus, osiris, anteros and another yet unidentified wink.gifyellow-winged dominula, several species were discovered new to the republic wink.gifabout beetles I will say nothing.... no! I can't help but say something about the beetle I've been dreaming about since childhood - morimus!
