There are almost no photos of Goliath beetles on the forum. So I decided to post some of my collection. I hope forumchane will support and publish their own.

Not so much. In a 40x50 box, you can fit all five types with basic shapes.
Goliathus goliathus of normal color.

The beetles are mounted on a die (approximately the same as in the photo).
In the box, they are additionally fixed with pins (2-3 are usually enough).

I'm wondering how to distinguish Goliathus orientalis orientalis from Goliathus orientalis pustulatus. And yet, there are some difficulties with the separation of dark Goliathus orientalis and light Goliathus goliathus conspersus?

The right and left beetles are signed "Republic of the Congo". Apparently, this refers to the DRC, formerly Zaire. Central beetle - Cameroon. At the same time, the shape of the pronotum is similar in the left and central ones (which cannot be orientalis by area), and in the right one it is different. Returning to the question, how do we distinguish G. orientalis from G. goliathus?

Very carefully, but in my opinion there is no point - you still need to additionally prick with pins. I just put them on my "belly" and cut them off.

As far as I know, the nominate is from Zimbabwe, and the subspecies kirkianus is from Tanzania.
