Got bitten by an insect

Hello.I'm new to your forum.I want to ask you something. My mother was bitten by an insect in the country, after 10 minutes she felt bad, then her legs went numb.An ambulance was called, taken to the hospital, anaphylactic shock. This insect (I don't know how to describe it) is somewhat similar to a hornet, but the body is gray or black.Wings like a hornet's.But, most importantly, it was bitten by a stinger that is located in front, and not behind, as in hornets. This insect resembles a hornet, but gray, unpleasant-looking, somewhat vaguely resembles a hummingbird or a hawk moth.I've dug all over the internet, can't find who it was.

Where geographically did this happen? Unfortunately, your description of the insect is a textbook example of complete entomological illiteracy (do not take it as an insult), and it is difficult to even guess the squad from it. Are you sure about the" front sting"? In this case, it is not a sting, but a proboscis, and there are two options: either a ktyr or a predatory bug. But at the same time, the entire part of the story about the similarity to the hornet will have to be thrown out. Although there is one of the ktyri called "hornet-shaped", but what its author saw this similarity in, it is difficult for me to understand. The second option is to assume that the sting was still behind, then the phrase about the similarity with the hornet gets a real meaning: it could be some kind of wasp or bee. There are many options, but based on geography, their number can be reduced.

This happened in the Luhansk region. An ambulance arrived, it was about 10 pm,this insect was lying on the grass.I saw it very vaguely, because it was too dark and the state of my mother, well, it wasn't up to that.

Satanas gigas probably got fucked up! Interestingly, the literature describes cases of allergy from its bites as from bee venom, or is this the first one?

I don't remember exactly what he looked like. This insect bit her in the house. His mother threw him out on the street, then there was anaphylactic shock.I picked it up later, showed it to the ambulance doctor, and he said it was all clear,it was a bite. Then I threw it out and ended up dead.I can't show you the photo.

In the Luhansk region?
More like a large horsefly. You can get allergic to their bites.

Is it there?" In the Donetsk region, they have not been able to find it for a long time. The giant ktyr lives only in psammophilic steppes and deserts, usually at a considerable distance from human habitation. To meet him in the country and even under such circumstances to bite - something on the verge of science fiction. But there are many other large ones in this region. let and not so ktyry. However, what do you need to do with this insect to make it bite? Even hand grabs (which in itself is usually not easy) sometimes it is not enough for this.

Yes, horsefly is the most plausible option! I ignored him, focusing only on the poisonous insects. But allergies are a strange thing. it can develop even on the most harmless substances for a healthy person, such as horsefly saliva.

Can't you find it and take a picture of it?
All questions would be removed immediately.

It's a very big mistake to throw it away. It was necessary to save, photograph if possible, and find out what it is, so that later such contacts could be avoided.

But in general, it could have been a wasp, and the second insect was just lying there.

Horseflies do not bite at all in self-defense, so after clarifying the circumstances of the bite, this option disappeared.
