Beetle - Undetermined family

Hello,

I have caught this beetle in northwestern Thailand, and I have no reliable idea of its family.

The tarsal formula is 554 : could it be a Tenebrionidae, or an Oedemeridae ?

Thanks for your help.

May be Melandryidae?

Bolbostetha or some related genus (Tenebrionidae: Alleculinae: Alleculini): http://wwwold.fld.czu.cz/studiesandreports...-206_novak1.pdf

Yes, the place where I caught my specimen is not so far from Chiang Mai. smile.gif

I've read the publication given by Fornax13. It's not a Bolbostetha because of the antennomers 3 and 4.

Maybe an Allecula ?

Yes, Allecula, but only "sensu latissimo"... confused.gif here you can find a key to genera: http://wwwold.fld.czu.cz/studiesandreports...294_novak_2.pdf
and here - a list of described genera of this group: http://wwwold.fld.czu.cz/studiesandreports...k_1_167-180.pdf
However, I think it would be better to ask Vladimir Novak about this beetle.

Latissimo ! it' s worst than lato ! smile.gif

Thanks once more for the publications, Fornax13.

I will check my specimen with the key of genera and more if possible.

I have asked the question to V. Novak two days ago, but I don't have an answer yet.
