Dear colleagues! If any of you or your friends collected insects in Sri Lanka, please share your experience and valuable tips. First of all, I would like to know how tightly the law controls the catching and export of insects there and what real danger can lie in wait at customs when exporting material. I would also like to hear your opinion on the severity of the malaria threat in Sri Lanka. I am very grateful in advance for any advice or opinion.

The topic was repeatedly discussed. Look for it in "fishing reports". In short, it is absolutely impossible to catch, the penalties are severe. But if you really want to, then you can smile.gif

It is forbidden to catch them, and it is also forbidden to take them out. If you really want to, you should do this: you agree with the guide about where you want to go, he finds interesting places for fishing and arranges with some respected local resident, for example, the owner of a plantation, etc., to accompany you. Thus, the locals consider you guests and will not sell you to the first policeman who comes along.
I strongly advise against fishing without all this, especially in the area of visibility of aborigines.
True all this costs a pretty penny frown.gif
Malaria seems to have been defeated there. I went there with my children, no one got vaccinated, everything went OK. But the blood-sucking leeches in the Sinharaja forest are eating you like mosquitoes in the suburbs. I advise you to have an ointment with you.
