Darwin Discussion Workshop
Lectures on modern problems of evolutionary biology, accompanied by an open discussion, are delivered by leading scientists
Despite the impressive achievements of evolutionary biology, the name of Darwin, the principles of evolution "according to Darwin”, the origin of man “according to Darwin" are still attacked and publicly discredited. That is why it is so important to discuss Darwin's fundamental ideas in the context of modern science.
Advances in biology in recent decades have shown that the concept of natural selection, human descent from animal ancestors, and many other Darwinian ideas are not only not outdated (or incorrect, as is often claimed), but are an indispensable foundation of today's life science (including medicine), and are extremely important for the humanities and for all of humanity in the modern world.
We invite everyone, especially young people, undergraduates and postgraduates, to take part in the seminar. After each lecture, you will have plenty of time to ask your questions and engage in an open discussion. The seminar organizers welcome any well-founded opinions and ideas expressed in the correct form.
