Introduction
2 tasks:
1) Admission to graduate school in St. Petersburg
2) Transportation of the collection

Content

In the near future (in a week, if I don't have time to collect a package of documents, then later), I intend to move my collection to St. Petersburg, for further training on the spot (in Moldova, there will simply be no one to look after the collection). The wording of the order is intended for the didactic purposes of the Kirov Forestry Academy of Sciences and admission to a Russian University with a specialty in entomology (i.e., as it is a visual material that I have been doing all these years). This is the wording. A small part of the pinned material and dry material on the spot is given to the address, the rest, namely my collection, remains with me. What documents do I need to transport the collection? There will be about 30 A4 boxes in total. and the material on the mattresses.

On the flip side:
1) An invitation from the Forestry Academy with the phrase-exchange of experience and material. For didactic purposes of the Kirov Forestry Academy of Sciences and admission to a Russian University specializing in entomology
2) Certification of the paper on the spot in the Institute of Zoology by the director.
3) Quarantine service - whether it is necessary to pass it, or the two previous documents will be quite sufficient.

Who knows and has experience, please consult. Transportation of collections by train.

Documents related to admission.
I found the following on the internet, is this enough, or is there something else needed:

Admission to the Institute is carried out by personal application of students.
1. Invitation from the university
2. When submitting an application, the applicant must present an identity document (passport).
3. A copy of the passport (a notarized translation of the passport into Russian).
4. Migration card or visa, a separate part of the notification for the purpose of staying in the Russian Federation – study.
5. Residence permit (in this case, a migration card and registration at the place of stay are not required).
6. Medical certificate, with mandatory indication of the AIDS test.
7. The application for admission must be accompanied by an original state-issued document of education (certificate of basic general education / certificate of secondary (full) general education / diploma of secondary vocational education / diploma of primary vocational education / diploma of higher professional education) or a notarized copy of the document, or a photocopy is certified according to the original by the seal of the admission office commissions.
8. 6 (six) photos 3x4 cm
. 9. Certificate of results of the unified state exam.
10.A copy of the employment record, if available, for applicants for part-time education.

P.S. In September, I plan to apply for graduate school in Moldova (I am known here and it is easier for me to do this here ). But will it be possible to enroll in Chisinau, and then immediately transfer to the entomology specialty at the University of St. Petersburg? What's the best way? Or is it better to go straight to St. Petersburg - what I would like more - I just don't know the deadline for submitting documents and whether I will have time?.

Interesting question - I think Mr. Musolin and Mr. Potanin are your potential helpers
of SUCCESS! Sincerely yours! Both in these cases and in further scientific ones.

I answered him... But this is not done in 3 days... We need to find out everything...

Trofim, I teach classes at SPbGLTA for graduate students in entomology. Next week I will ask your questions to the rector. What is your dissertation topic?

One of the questions that puzzled me right now is my military ID. As I understand it, it will not be valid in the Russian Federation? If I want to get citizenship of the Russian Federation. The fact is that I have the opportunity to get Russian citizenship, but it will probably be better for me to study as a foreign citizen for now - otherwise I lose my budget for postgraduate studies in Moldova and end up in the army in Russia (if I don't pass the entrance exams for postgraduate studies in the Russian Federation). I read that foreign citizens need an invitation from the host country to complete their studies , and these issues should probably be resolved at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Can I get such an invitation from the LTA - I realized that this invitation opens a study visa for me (so that I don't have to go back and forth every 3 months to register), and I will also have a residence permit from my grandmother in the Russian Federation (if this is important). What are the entrance exams for postgraduate studies in LTA-they simply do not say on their website. For example, on the website of St. Petersburg State University for admission to graduate school posted PDF documents with questions on special subjects.

"for foreign citizens to study, you need an invitation from the host country"
- - - - I already wrote that this is unlikely to be the case. for foreign users. - it's all paid simply (or via a state line through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but for sure it takes a long time to make out and you need to call your Ministry of Foreign Affairs). after 1 Sept. It still makes sense for you to call the department. postgraduate studies.

Examples are always the same-Specialty (Entomology), Foreign Language, Philosophy.

Admission to the graduate school of SPBGLT is made no later than 10.10. (October 10)
Is this the deadline?

And also in section 2. The procedure for accepting documents from applicants to the graduate school of SPBGLTA
e) certificate of passing candidate exams if the applicant has passed candidate exams

But it is not necessary to pass them at all, since they are passed already when the degree is awarded. Either, as I understand it, candidate exams (fully or partially passed) go instead of entrance exams - but the candidate level is of course much more difficult. Or have I misunderstood something

Vitaly, about the steam carriage of the collection. It is necessary to apply for an ICR in the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. To be honest, I don't know how it will be easier to apply for caviar for yourself or for someone from St. Petersburg. Then, with the CAVIAR received, you contact your quarantine service and they issue a phytosanitary certificate.

Dear Trofim, you have correctly understood that it is not necessary to pass the candidate's minimum exams before entering graduate school. Passed-very good (they can be counted as entrance exams to graduate school, and you don't have to spend time in graduate school to pass them), not passed - it's okay; you will take the entrance exams, but "candidate" exams in their turn, during your postgraduate studies. Yes, and in fact, really, "nothing terrible" - imagine that you (once or somewhere) passed the CAND. at least according to some Marxist-Leninist rubbish, you will not just not be "re-credited" as an entrance exam, but will also be forced to take it again as a candidate (a"normal" academic secretary of the council who accepts documents for defense should do umnik.gifso). Moreover, it seems to me that cand. The minimum amount deposited in Moldova is not converted to the Russian Federation. So, don't worry your head unnecessarily. smile.gif
(I will note in parentheses: these exams - "candidate's" - DO NOT" pass already at the award of the degree", as you write. Without a certificate of completed cand. You will not be admitted to the defense during the exams. A "degree is awarded" already based on the results of the candidate's defense. diss.)
But what it makes sense to think about ahead of time is the abstract on the intended topic of the dissertation. A hypothetical supervisor has the right to request it from a future graduate student.

Dear Vitaly,

So, the procedure for admission of a foreign citizen to the graduate school of SPBGLT, as I was explained today in the Department of Postgraduate studies, is as follows: the applicant has two alternative paths.

Path one: contract postgraduate studies. Admission requires a passport, a migration card, and a higher education diploma. If these documents are available, a contract with the applicant and an order to enroll them are drawn up. I may have to go through the procedure of nostrification of the diploma; the Department of Postgraduate Studies has not yet been able to clearly answer the question of whether it is necessary for Moldovan citizens. Now about the prices. The fee for the first year of contract postgraduate study is 78,000 rubles, the second-74,000 rubles, and the third-78,000 rubles. At the same time, you will only be able to work somewhere unofficially (without entering the length of service in the employment record). There were no precedents for applying for foreign citizens at the Academy yet.

Path two: budget postgraduate study. Every year, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation allocates a certain number of free places with the payment of scholarships for teaching foreign citizens in postgraduate studies at Russian universities. To get such a low-cost place, you need to contact the Ministry of Education of your country as soon as possible and find out if there are free places in the quota for your country. If they exist, your ministry sends a request to our ministry, which in turn sends a request to a specific Russian university. The following procedure is standard.

Upon admission to the graduate school of SPBGLT, you will be offered accommodation in a hostel and registration in it. The military enlistment office will not have any complaints against you during the training period.

If you have any other questions, please ask.

With your permission, I will duplicate this letter on the entomological forum: maybe this information will be useful to anyone else who wants to go your way.
