My article with the first description was accepted for publication in Zookiz today.

So the entire acceptance process took approximately 2.5 months. If it comes out in a couple of weeks, the total time will be 3 months. This roughly corresponds to the duration in Zootaxa. I also submitted an article to Zookeys, but it will be released sometime in September, as it will be a special issue.

I have one article in Zookeys, one (well, there are a lot of co-authors) in Zootaxe. So far, I have no publications in these journals.

Today I received a notification about the publication. In total, the entire process took three and a half months.

However, Zookeys was blown away - IF for 2010 only 0.514 against 1.133 in 2009. But Zootaxa remained at the same level...

IF 0.5 for a young journal is also not bad. Specialization in alpha taxonomies (traditional) I haven't really raised anyone's rating yet. Let's look at the trend.

But the drop is significant - for our people, this was a "bell" that now the PRND points will fall and we need to master new magazines.

And what is there to master? Do molecular science and phylogeny and you will have IF and PRND.

I could not even imagine that coordinating the layout with a technical editor is a more difficult task than writing an article and reviewing it togethermad.gif, which I am offered are simply terrible.
