Sixth Reading in memory of O. A. Kataev "Forest entomology and problems of forest protection"

in the framework of the XIV Congress of the Russian Entomological Society

Saint Petersburg, SPbGLTU, August 26-September 1, 2012

Dear colleagues!

St. Petersburg State Forest Engineering University named after S. M. Kirov and the Russian Entomological Society invite you to take part in the Sixth Readings in memory of forest entomologist O. A. Kataev, which will be held at the end of August 2012 at the Department of Forest Protection and Hunting Studies of St. Petersburg State Technical University (5 Institutsky Lane, St. Petersburg).

Please note that this time the Readings will be held within the framework of the XIV Congress of the Russian Entomological Society as one of the sessions of the Forest Section of the Congress. The Congress will be open from August 26 to September 1, 2012. The exact date of the Readings (within August 27-30) will be specified after the Congress program is formed.

The purpose of the Readings is to exchange views on topical issues of forest entomology and forest protection, coordinate scientific research, summarize current forest entomological knowledge, and discuss key research areas in the field of insect ecology and forest protection.

To participate in the Readings, we ask you to register through the Russian Entomological Society as a full participant of the congress, pay for your participation, send your abstracts and indicate Forest Entomology as your preferred section, determine your accommodation option, etc. (see the details in the second information letter of the Congress: http://www.zin.ru/societies/res/rus/congress.html). Abstracts and the registration fee required for their publication will be accepted by the Organizing Committee of the Congress until March 20, 2012. In addition, please inform us about your desire to speak at the Readings by sending to chtenia.o.a.kataeva@gmail.com request with the following information:

1. Last name, first name, patronymic.
2. Academic degree.
3. The represented organization.
4. Contact phone number, e-mail.
5. Authors, title and form of the report (oral or poster).

Abstracts of the Congress reports will be published before the Congress. Based on the results of the Readings, the materials of the reports made at the Readings, after reviewing, are planned to be published in a separate issue of Izvestiya of the St. Petersburg Forestry Engineering Academy.

The second information letter with the program of Readings will be sent to the participants after the Congress Program and Readings are formed.
