On April 04, 2013, after a serious illness, our colleague, a well – known entomologist, odonatologist, head of the Laboratory of Insect Ecology at the Institute of Animal Systematics and Ecology of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Anatoly Yuryevich Kharitonov passed away.
Anatoly Yuryevich passed the scientific path in the Institute from a post-graduate student to a deputy. Director of Research, permanent head of the laboratory and scientific Secretary of the Dissertation Council of the Institute for more than 30 years. He has published over 150 scientific papers, including 5 monographs. Research on Eurasian dragonflies is widely known to scientists around the world. Under the supervision of Anatoly Yurievich, 1 doctoral and 20 PhD theses were defended.
The memory of Anatoly Yuryevich Kharitonov, a bright man, a Scientist with a capital letter, the broadest erudition, an excellent popularizer of knowledge about nature, will forever remain in the hearts of all who have ever heard his soulful voice.
