This Sunday, one of the greatest entomologists of our time, Charles Michener, passed away. He recently turned 97 years old, and his journalistic activity spans 80 (!) years. He published his first article, it is difficult to imagine, in 1935.
In just 80 years of his research career, he published 514 papers describing 618 species, 262 genera and subgenera, and 26 families and subfamilies of insects, mainly bees. In addition, he is the author of already classic works in the field of morphology, taxonomy and evolution of bees. Titan Man, legend Man....
