Entomologist's Day. January 21st.
In 2001, St. Petersburg entomologists founded a professional holiday, timed to coincide with the celebration of the Old New Year and the laboratory New Year's performance at the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The date of the celebration was later associated with the birthday of the outstanding president of the Russian Entomological Society G. S. Medvedev on January 21. Let's remember on this day our predecessors and colleagues, and the object that gives us the joy of work and even feeds us. I distract you from the current problems of life and from messing around with your favorite insects, and I congratulate all entomologists on a professional and amateur holiday.
