Yesterday, December 2, Kari Nupponen, a well-known lepidopterologist, a great connoisseur of micro-lepidoptera of the Scythrididae family and related families, died.

I knew Kari personally, and I managed to work with him in the field. He was a positive, unpretentious person in the fields, very pleasant in communication.

I offer my condolences to my family, friends, and the entire scientific community
