The caterpillar willingly eats the leaves of fruit trees: pears, apples, plums.
Pear is preferable. Very voracious.
Pupate in a dense oblong cocoon of brown color. The pupa can be put in the refrigerator for the winter on a shelf. Get it somewhere, in March or April (earlier - do not rush, do not rush), hang the cocoon so that the butterfly has somewhere to spread its wings. After the refrigerator, the butterfly can hatch in 3-20 days.

Actually, this species is quite common in the south.
They are very easy to breed, butterflies mate in a cage of 30 liters or more. It is very important to give the caterpillars fresh leaves without phlegm!!!! If there are wet leaves in a cage with a large number of caterpillars, everyone will take a break from a viral infection. Larvae should be kept in small groups, 5-10 pieces each. In the conditions of Moscow, it is convenient to breed on cherries or plums. The bad thing about a pear is that it doesn't sit well in the water.

I don't know where it is common, but we have a rare species, even though we are south of Moscow.
And from those present, someone bred them or is breeding them?!

Here in this goldu also got burned on the fact that he occasionally sprayed the leaves frown.gifnot experienced frown.gif

ASSAF:
I was already interested in this information, so I shouldn't have even asked. You know that I know, but it is not clear for what reasons you are afraid of information from me..

For the rest of us (we live in neighboring yards)

13.09.2006 21:33, Асаф

Hello neighbour.I'm not afraid of anything.

Who can tell me who will tell you if these saturnias will spoil their delicate woolly wings in a 60-liter aquarium?!And do they fly during the day?

14.09.2006 14:29, RippeR

This Saturnia has very strong wings, a friend said that he caught them with his hands when they flew into the light, but even the pollen could not be stripped off.. Another thing is grass, branches and similar things that can tear the wings while the butterflies fly and attack them.
Therefore, I do not think that the aquarium will harm their "tender" wings.

14.09.2006 14:43, Асаф

What kind of sadistic friends do you have?!You can catch these butterflies with your hands...

They'll start talking and go soft. lol.gif

14.09.2006 17:32, RippeR

Here are some of them.. And he is not a sadist after that, he did not mock them, just caught and injected ethyl into them, did not torment smile.gifthem

Well, of course, they will spoil their wings a little, but there is hardly anything you can do about it. The butterfly still does not live long. I have a few cocoons, I hope they will get divorced in the spring.
Images of grushovka fly at night.

15.09.2006 12:28, Асаф

Yes, I envy you.
And from where do you have their cocoons?!

16.09.2006 18:29, Guest

Uh-huh... I exchange cocoons with different people. I have a lot of different views right now.

Can you give me a couple?(Saturn)I really want to start breeding them.
And then what do you do with them?

18.09.2006 9:23, guest: Андрей

I have very few pears, so I can only throw them in the spring, eggs or caterpillars. And you are unlikely to have enough pairs to breed. If you take for divorce, then at least 10 pieces.
Then I don't do anything. I'm just breeding them. I let out the extra ones...

18.09.2006 21:57, Асаф

You let out the extra ones, but what about the rest?Do you continue to breed?
At least I need two.......I have to start with something.......
Well, if you get the opportunity, I will be grateful to you at least for a couple of their testicles.....

20.09.2006 9:31, guest: Андрей

I continue to breed.
If they are divorced in the spring, then there will be as many eggs as you like, the female lays 200 pieces.

20.09.2006 14:02, Асаф

And how long have you been doing them? And they don't go extinct because of a close relationship?Do you have an Asi number?

21.09.2006 16:18, guest: андрей

345-460-500
Years Ago. Degeneration occurs. Usually the 5th-6th generation becomes the last one. Perhaps this can be overcome by making selection and homozygous "good" alleles. The rate of degeneracy depends on the species. I assume that in some species the number of lethal recessive alleles is small, for example in parnassius, simply because they live in small groups in small territories and closely related interbreeding occurs frequently. But this is unknown. I'll try with the apollons.

22.09.2006 20:33, Асаф

And where do you get fresh blood from?!
Buy more butterflies or something?!

23.09.2006 19:54, guest: Андр

Not necessarily, you can switch with someone. Or find it in nature. Or suspend breeding of this species until better times..

25.09.2006 12:11, Guest

Do you sell tropical views in the city?!
